The latest catalogue release for vehicles from China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has revealed the upcoming 2027 Zeekr 001, the all-electric sedan, whose launch in the domestic market by the Zeekr will take place somewhere in 2027. Not only exterior design but also the core specifications have emerged. Let’s have a closer look at the same.
Longer wheelbase.
Online surfaced details show that the all-new Zeekr 001 electric sedan will go on sale domestically with two different lengths: 4,977 mm and 5,029 mm. It has been revealed that the width will be 1,999 mm, and the height is set to be 1,545 mm for the standard, and 1,533 mm for the trims will be available with air suspension.
Notably, only one wheelbase is mentioned in the details made public by China’s MIIT. The distance between the axles measures 3,005 mm. Among the surfaced details, it also appears that the kerb weight is 2,350 kg to 2,420 kg; however, it is still uncertain for whom they are. We expect it to vary depending on the battery pack.
Get a split-headlights setup.
The images that we found in China’s MIIT catalogue release show a sculpted bonnet and split LED headlight setup. We can clearly see that the daylight running lights are placed on the top, and the main headlights that integrate high beam and low beam are placed below that and are connected with black trim at the center.
Other visible elements on the front-end are the Zeekr logo on the bonnet, triangular air curtains, and lower air intakes. A roof-mounted lidar is also visible from the front. Its availability is a clear hint that this forthcoming electric sedan is coming with an intelligent driving assistant.
The upcoming new-generation Zeekr shows blackout pillars, a front door mounted outside the rear view mirror that also houses side indicators, hidden flush-type door handles, and flared wheel arches. The rear shows a full-width LED taillight with Zeekr lettering for branding, and roof-mounted spoiler for enhanced stability.
Features an RWD drivetrain.
Online surfaced details for the 2027 Zeekr 001 reveal that this upcoming EV will go on sale with the rear-wheel drivetrain getting a permanent magnet synchronous motor on the rear axle. The model of the PMSM is TZ230XYC04; it is sourced from Quzhou Jidian Electric Vehicle Technology, and its power output is 370 kW (496 hp).
It also reveals that the top speed is 240 km/h and 280 km/h; we expect that it will vary depending on the variant. The speeds are most likely to vary depending on the battery pack; the one that may be offered with a standard battery reaches the speed of 240 km/h, but the other one with a large battery pack may catch the speed of 280 km/h.
Regarding the battery capacity, nothing is officially disclosed. But in the surfaced details, it appears that it has a lithium-ion battery pack, which is both supplied and assembled by Geely. Reports suggest that the all-new model is all set to retain 900-volt electrical architecture, which helps with 10 to 80 percent charging in 7 minutes.
Price may remain familiar.
Regarding the 2027 Zeekr 001 electric sedan price, no details have emerged. Reports, despite the design changes and feature upgrades, say this model will go on sale with the familiar starting price. For reference, the outgoing version retails in China with the starting price of 269,800 yuan, which translates to 40,400 USD.
