VinFast VF7 AWD vs Tata Harrier EV AWD: Price, Range and Specs Compared

The VinFast VF7 AWD and Tata Harrier EV AWD are the all-electric five-seater sport utility vehicles which come with the double-motor setup, one on the front axle and another on the rear axle. The ex-showroom price for the first one’s price ranges from ₹26.19 to ₹26.79 lakh rupees, and the latter comes with the ₹26.49 to ₹29.48 lakh rupees. 

The AWD variant of VF7 is available in two variants that are Sky and Sky Infinity with the ex-showroom price of ₹26.19 lakh and ₹26.79 lakh, respectively, and Harrier EV is available in three that are Fearless+ QWD 75, Empowered QWD 75, and Empowered Stealth QWD 75 with ₹26.49 lakh, ₹28.99 lakh, and ₹29.48 lakh, respectively.

Dimensions

The VF7 measures 4,550 mm in length, 1,893 mm in width and 1,596 in height; the Tata Harrier EV’s length is 4,607, width is 2,132 and height is 1,740, meaning the latter is 57 mm longer, 239 mm wider and 144 mm higher compared to the first one, giving better headroom and shoulder room for all occupants to make the journey comfortable.

The wheelbase for the VF7 is 2,840 and for the Harrier EV is 2,741, meaning the first one has a longer wheelbase, giving ample legroom for all rear seating passengers; and the ground clearance is 190 mm and 205 mm for the VF7 and Harrier EV, respectively, meaning more ideal for Indian road conditions is the latter one.

Interior & Features 

The VF7 has a premium and futuristic cabin with almost no physical buttons; its seats are made up of high-quality vegan leather for better comfort. The seating is available in layouts of 2 + 3 and features a boot space of 537 litres that helps in carrying big luggage. The cabin is equipped with a 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and instead of a digital instrument cluster, it gets a head-up display that shows driving data on the windscreen.

On the other hand, the Harrier EV has a premium lounge-like cabin with a double-tone dashboard and soft-touch materials. As an infotainment system, it gets a 12.3-inch Neo QLED display and also features a driver display of 10.25 inches that shows all the driving data on it. It also comes with seating layouts of 2 + 3, but it has a boot space of only 502 litres. Another feature highlight is the voice-assisted panoramic sunroof with ambient lighting.

Powertrain & Performance 

Tata Harrier EV

The VF7 comes with an LFP battery pack of 70.8 kWh, which offers an ARAI-certified range is 510 km, and it supports a DC charger up to 100 kW that takes 28 minutes for 10 to 70 per cent charging. The power output and peak torque are 353 hp and 500 Nm, respectively. The claimed acceleration timing for 0-100 km is 5.8 seconds, but the real-world timing is 6.03 seconds. 

And the Harrier EV gets a 75.8 kWh LFP battery pack, giving it the ARAI-certified range of 613 km. It sprints from 0-100 km/h in 6.03 seconds, as per the claim, and 6.74 seconds is real-world timing. It generates the power of 390 hp and 504 Nm. It supports a DC charger up to 120 kW that takes the same amount of time, 28 minutes, but charges the vehicle from 10 to 80 per cent.

Exterior & Design 

The VF7 has a futuristic and sporty design with a sharp and aggressive front fascia; features the brand’s signature ‘V-motion’ LED DRLs (daylight running lights) giving it its futuristic look; gets flush-type door handles for better aerodynamics; has 19-inch blackout multi-spoke wheels for better road presence; and has a coupe-like roofline for better aerodynamics. 

And the Harrier EV has a dominant and muscular design with a tall and wide body, gets connected to an LED light bar with a welcome and goodbye animation to add a premium touch, and features pull-type door handles for better practicality, and it also comes with 19-inch alloy wheels that not only improve its road presence but also its efficiency.
