Chery's QQ3 EV Patented In India: Compact EV With 800V Architecture & Fast Charging

The Chinese automaker Chery has collaborated with JSW, an Indian auto manufacturer, to launch the new energy vehicles (NEVs) in India under the banner of JSW. The vehicles that are slated to be introduced in the Indian market are Jetour T2, Jaecoo J5, iCar V23 and Jetour J7. Now, a new name, QQ3, has been added to the list.

Chery has patented the QQ3 in India; now it is confirmed that they will also introduce it to the Indian market. In China, it was launched in four variants across two trims on March 30, 2026, with prices between ¥58,900 and ¥78,900, which is equivalent to ₹8.07 lakh to ₹10.81 lakh in India. In the Indian market, it is expected to be available for sale with similar pricing.

The QQ3 is an all-electric hatchback, which is available in the Chinese market with two battery packs. In India, it will be launched as JSW QQ3 EV at very affordable pricing. Nothing about its launch date is confirmed, but it may make its Indian debut in 2027. In the Indian market, it will compete with the Nexon EV from Tata Motors.

What do we know about QQ3?

In the Indian market, the QQ3 has been patented by Chery, but its launch in India will happen under the banner of JSW. It is set to come with the same specifications and features that are available for the Chinese market; you may know about them from below.

Comes With Two Battery Packs

The QQ3 is equipped with a single PMS motor on the rear axle featuring a rear-wheel drive drivetrain. Its transmission is single-speed automatic. Of the offered LPF battery packs, 29.48 kWh and 41.28 kWh, the standard one generates the power of 78 hp and torque of 90 Nm, but the large battery pack generates the power of 121 hp and torque of 115 Nm.

The CLTC range for 29.48 kWh battery packs is 310 km, but the same with 41.28 kWh is 420 km. The top speed with both battery packs is 125 km, but the 0-100 km acceleration timing is yet to be disclosed. Its electrical architecture is 800 volts, and it supports a DC charger up to 82 kW that takes only 16.5 minutes for a 30-80% charge and comes with an AC charger of 7 kW that takes 6-8 hours for a full charge.

Features Semi-Flush Door Handles

Up front, the QQ3 features a ‘square within round’ design language giving it its futuristic appearance, Q-shaped LED headlights to make it eye-catching, and a closed-off grill to reflect modern EV styling. On the sides, it gets a boxy silhouette that increases interior space and semi-door handles for better aerodynamics that help with better efficiency.

Notable on the sides are cladding of wheel arches in black that give an SUV-like rugged look and large alloy wheels with an aero-optimised design. The rear gets a taillight in a Q-style mirror, and the front-end lighting profile and the tailgate are also quite clean but modern. The roof spoiler adds sporty details, and the layered bumper at the back adds a visual depth.
