The Chinese automaker Chery has officially revealed the Tiggo X, a full-size plug-in hybrid seven-seater flagship SUV, at the 2026 Beijing Auto Show. It is positioned above Tiggo 9 in the brand’s line-up. The launch is expected in the second quarter of 2026 in China with prices around ¥250,000 to ¥350,000, which translates to $36,000 to $50,500 in the US.

The vehicle comes with the seating layout of 2-3-2, and its dimensions are 5,050 mm in length, 1,960 mm in width, 1,800 mm in height, and 2,950 mm in wheelbase. The boot space is yet to be revealed; however, its cargo is likely to be around 200 liters, as it’s a seven-seater, which can be extended by folding down the third-row and second-row seats.

Exterior & Design Highlights

The car features a ‘rugged luxury’ design with a boxy silhouette with a tall stance, high bonnet line, and wide wheel arches. On the front of the vehicle there’s a large and bold grill to give it a strong presence and modern look, and the headlights and DRLs (daylight running lights) reflect the brand’s lighting signature.

In profile, it gets up to a 22-inch large alloy wheel for better road grip, flush-type door handles to improve aerodynamics and give the premium touch, and a long and straight beltline to enhance its modernness; the rear features a full-width LED taillight bar that creates a wide stance and a clean and squared-off tailgate.

Cabin & Technology

The vehicle’s interior focuses on luxury and family comfort with soft-touch seating and trim and smart tech. The cabin’s highlights are yet to be revealed and may be made public in the near launch. Expectations are that it will get a 15.6-inch touch screen for infotainment at the center of the dashboard with a smart UI and powerful chipset for smooth processing.

A fully digital instrument cluster is certain; it will be under the screening wheel, which shows all driving data, including speed, charging percentage, navigation, alerts, and others. For connectivity, it gets Huawei HiCar & Apple CarPlay. To control it, it is set to come with an advanced AI system that can do things with voice commands and connect features.

Front row seats are highly expected to be electronically adjustable; the ventilation, heating, and massage functions are likely for first-row and second-row seats, and third-row seats may get separate armrests. Other features may include ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof, a premium audio system, a wireless charging pad, and USB ports.

Driving Assistant

The car comes with the Falcon Pilot 700 advanced driving assistant system, which includes a roof-mounted LiDAR, 11 cameras, 3 millimeter-wave radars, and 12 ultrasonic sensors with a high-performance AI chip, which is developed with the partnership of Momenta.

It makes the driving semi-autonomous with highway driving assist that includes adaptive cruise control, lane centering, automatic lane changes, and Navigate on Autopilot.

Powertrain & Performance

The vehicle comes with two engine options, which are a 1.5-liter turbo petrol and a 2.0-liter turbo that is paired with an eight-speed auto transmission gearbox and a double-motor setup, one on the front axle and the other on the rear axle, featuring an all-wheel drive configuration.

Its combined power output is 355 KW (476 hp), and peak torque is 630 Nm (465 lb-ft). It gets a small LPF battery that needs to be plugged in for charging; the car’s only electric CLTC range is 200 km, and overall (fuel + battery) it is 1,500 km, meaning it gets a large fuel tank with an only-fuel range of 1200 km.
