In the last five years, India has seen launches of many electric vehicles with different pricing to cater to all types of buyers. Among these launches, only a few are those which accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h quickly. The top 3 are the Porsche Taycan Turbo S, the Audi RS e-tron GT, and the BYD Seal Performance. Let’s have a closer look at each of them.
Porsche Taycan Turbo S
Ex-showroom price: ₹2.44 crore

Comes with a dual-motor all-wheel-drive drivetrain and dual-speed automatic transmission. The power output is 764 hp, but the launch control delivers the power of 938 hp, which helps the Porsche Taycan Turbo S to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.7 seconds, and the top speed goes up to 260 km/h.
Equipped with a 105 kWh NMC (Nickel Manganese Cobalt) battery pack, whose WLTP range is 634 kilometres. Built on 800-volt electrical architecture supporting DC charger upto 350 kW, which takes time of 18 minutes for 10 to 80 percent charging.
Features seating space for 4 people in a layout of 2-2 with a cargo capacity of 450 litres that includes 366 litres of trunk and 84 litres of frunk. The dashboard gets a 16.8-inch free-standing curved display before the driving seat as a digital instrument under the steering wheel.
Audi RS e-tron GT
Ex-showroom price: ₹1.95 crore

It is also equipped with two, one on each axle, featuring an AWD drivetrain with a two-speed automatic transmission, whose power output is 590 hp and peak torque is 830 Nm, but with the launch control, it delivers the maximum power of 637 hp, making the Audi RS e-tron GT sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds, and the maximum speed goes up to 250 km/h.
Get a battery pack of 105 kWh NMC (Nickel Manganese Cobalt) battery giving the WLTP range of 598 kilometres. It is also built on 800-volt electrical architecture but supports DC chargers only up to 320 kW and takes a time of 18 minutes for 10 to 80 per cent charging.
Features seating capacity of 5 people in 2-3 configuration, behind the rear seat, it gets a boot space of 405 liters and front storage trunk of 81 litres, meaning the whole Cargo capacity is 485 litres. Notably, under the steering wheel on the dashboard, it gets a 12.3 inch digital instrument cluster showing driving data.
BYD Seal Performance
Ex-showroom price: ₹53.15 lakh

Get two permanent magnet synchronous motor, one is mounted with each axle, meaning it also comes with AWD drivetrain, but it uses single-speed automatic transmission. It delivers the power of 530 hp and peak torque of 670 Nm; it doesn’t feature any launch control. It takes only 3.8 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h, and its top speed is 180 km/h.
Offered with the 82.56 kWh BYD “Blade” lithium iron phosphate battery pack, whose WLTP range is 520 kilometres. It is based on 400-volt electrical architecture that supports a DC charger up to 150 kW. Notably, with the maximum output, it takes 37 minutes from 10 to 80 per cent charging.
Also offered with a seating capacity of 5 people in a 2-3 layout, the main trunk, i.e., boot space, is 400 litres, and front trunk storage is 53 litres; the overall cargo capacity is 453 litres. Under the steering wheel, it features a 10.25-inch digital driver display which shows all driving data, including speed and battery.
