The Denza Z9S is a premium all-electric luxury sedan, which is all set to make its debut in the Chinese market in the second half of 2026. Recently they have released the cabin image revealing the interior. Inside, it has three multi-function steering wheels, a digital instrument cluster before the driving seat at the center of the dashboard, a touchscreen infotainment system at the center, and two wireless phone charging pads at the center console.
Below the touchscreen infotainment system, it has physical buttons for auto parking, the e³ tri-motor independent drive platform, and the DiSus intelligent body control system. The dashboard has piano black dashboard trim and air conditioning vents on the side with a cleaner view. Other notable features are the diamond-pattern quilted seats and premium upholstery with soft-touch materials.
Other features the cabin is expected to get are an augmented reality head-up display, double-zone climate control, ventilated and heated front seats to keep the driver and co-passenger warm in winter and cool in summer, and ambient lighting. The infotainment system is set to be integrated with a multiple-speaker premium sound system to enhance the audio experience inside the cabin.
The centrally mounted screen is set to feature wireless connectivity via Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and Bluetooth. It will also feature connected car technology with over-the-air software updates. The AI-based voice assistant is certain to do all the touch-based things. Available with a seating capacity of 5 people in 2-3 layouts, it has a large boot space that helps in carrying the luggage.
Outside, it has slim LED headlights, including daylight running lights and main headlamps; roof-mounted LiDAR; a Denza logo below the hood; air curtains on the side; and vertical air intakes on the front bumper. Other notable features on the exterior are double-toned ORVMs, flush-type door handles, flared wheel arches, horizontal taillamps, and a bumper-integrated side reflector.
Dimensionally, it is 5,090 mm longer and 1,980 mm wider. The height is 1,490 mm for tri-motor and 1,510 mm for single-motor variants. The wheelbase, the distance between the front and the axle, is 3,025 mm. Notably, compared to BYD’s Denza Z9, the existing one is 145 mm shorter in terms of length, 10 mm narrower, 28 mm lower than the AWD variant, and has a 100 mm shorter wheelbase.
The rear-wheel-drive variant is equipped with a permanent magnet synchronous motor with single-speed automatic transmission whose power output is 370 kW (496 hp). The all-wheel drive gets an induction motor on the front axle and two PMSMs on the rear axle, between which there’s a one-speed automatic gearbox. The combined power output is 890 kW (1,194 hp). The top speed for both the RWD and AWD variants is 250 km/h.
Both variants are equipped with BYD’s latest second-generation 102.326 kWh lithium-ion battery packs; the CLTC range is 920 km and 780 km for the RWD and AWD trims. Both support BYD flash charging, which takes 5 minutes for 10 to 70 percent charging and 9 minutes for up to 97 percent charging. Even in the case of extreme cold conditions, such as -30 degrees Celsius, it takes 12 minutes for 20 to 97 percent charging.
The roof-mounted Light Detection and Ranging indicates that it features God’s Eye B, an intelligent driving system, which supports navigation autopilot for both city driving and highway cruising. Equipped with the DiSus-A, BYD’s intelligent air suspension system, which helps with adjustable ride height and smooth driving experience on types of terrains with real-time suspension adjustment.
As of now, there’s no update on the price. It is expected to be available for the sale with the price between 350,000 yuan and 500,000 yuan, which translates to ₹49.77 lakh and ₹71.10 lakh. Its main rivals in the Chinese market are set to be the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra, Nio ET9, Zeekr 001 FR, Yangwang U7, Tesla Model S Plaid, Mercedes-AMG EQS 53, and Porsche Taycan Turbo GT.
