ORA, the pure-electric vehicle brand of Great Wall Motor, has teased the Ora 5 GT, an all-electric sporty hatchback, and the Ora 5 Sport, a pure-electric station wagon, revealing its exterior and other details. The GT version comes with a front splitter, side skirts, a rear spoiler, red accents on the wheels, aerodynamic headlight components, red brake calipers, and a front-fender charging port.
On the other hand, the sport version features two-tone exterior paint with a contrasting white roof, larger alloy wheels, red-painted brake calipers, and a roof-mounted Light Detection and Ranging sensor. They haven’t announced the price for the model, but the Sport and GT may be available for sale with the prices of 90,000 yuan and 110,000 yuan, which translate to ₹12.82 lakh and ₹15.67 lakh.
The launch date isn’t yet confirmed. Reports suggest that they will introduce the Sport and GT variant of Ora 5 in the second half of 2026 in the Chinese market. Following the launch, the GT will compete with the Smart #1 Brabus, MG S5 EV, and Geely Galaxy E5 and sport with the Aion Y Plus, Leapmotor B10, and BYD Atto 3.
Get a permanent magnet synchronous motor with single-speed automatic transmission on the front axle whose maximum power output is 150 kW (201 hp) and peak torque is 260 Nm. Since the e-motor is on the front axle, it is available with a front-wheel-drive drivetrain. Under the floor, it gets LFP battery packs, which are 45.3 kWh and 58.3 kWh, giving the CLTC range of 480 km and 580 km, respectively. The top speed is 170 km/h.
Built on the Guiyuan Platform, also known as the GWM ONE Platform, whose front and rear suspension are MacPherson strut and multi-link independent, respectively. All wheels are equipped with solid discs with integrated braking control, which includes a brake booster, electronic stability control, an anti-locking braking system improving braking response and pedal feel, and regenerative braking.
The length is 4,471 mm with a 2,720 mm wheelbase, the width is 1,641 mm, and the height is 2,720 mm. They are available with a seating capacity of 5 people in a 2-3 layout. Features a two-spoke steering wheel with physical buttons, under which there’s a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster that shows all the driving data, including vehicle speed, battery charge level, and remaining driving range.
The center of the dashboard gets a 15.6-inch 2.5K central touchscreen infotainment display, which supports voice assistant, over-the-air software updates for connected car technology, wireless multi-device connectivity, and Bluetooth connectivity for navigation and music and media. It also manages vehicle settings, climate control, and the 360-degree camera to get a surround view.
The Ora 5 is available for sale in the Chinese market from December 16, 2025, in four variants. They are Ora 5 480 Air, Ora 5 480 Pro, Ora 5 480 LiDAR, and Ora 5 580 LiDAR, with the prices of 89,800 yuan, 99,800 yuan, 109,800 yuan, and 123,800 yuan, respectively. Notably, the kerb weight of the same range is from 1440 kg to 1665 kg, depending on the variant.
The main rivals of the Ora 5 are BYD Atto 3, Geely Galaxy E5, Aion Y, Leapmotor B10, and Deepal S05. Outside, it has a closed front grille for better aerodynamics; round LED headlights and a full-width LED taillight give it a modern-retro touch. Roof rails help in carrying the luggage by mounting it on the roof, and 18-inch alloy wheels enhance its road presence.
The infotainment system runs on Coffee Pilot 3 OS. This variant comes with lidar features and navigation on Autopilot for both city driving and highway cruising. It also has some driving-related features, which are Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM), and Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA).
