Mazda Motor Corporation, the Japanese automobile manufacturer, has launched the 2026 Mazda6e, an all-electric sedan, in Thailand by importing it from China, which is built by Changan Mazda Automobile Co., Ltd. in Nanjing. They have introduced the model in two variants, which are Long Range RWD Exclusive and Long Range RWD Premium, with the prices of THB 1,169,000 (₹31.2 lakh) and THB 1,199,000 (₹32.0 lakh), respectively.
Notably, it is built on the Deepal L07 platform and sold as the Mazda EZ-6 in the Chinese market. Its main rivals are the Tesla Model 3, BYD Seal, Hyundai Ioniq 6, GAC Aion ES, and Deepal L07. The length, width, and height are 4,921 mm, 1,890 mm, and 1,491 mm, respectively. Its wheelbase is 2,895 mm; boot space is 330 liters, which is expandable up to 1,074 liters; and frunk (front trunk storage) is 70 liters, which helps in carrying luggage.
It is available for sale in the Indian market as a battery electric vehicle. Features a permanent magnet synchronous on the rear axle featuring a rear-wheel-drive drivetrain. The power output is 258 hp (190 kW), and peak torque is 290 Nm (213.893 lb-ft). Under the floor, it is equipped with a 77.9 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack, whose NEDC range is 654 kilometers.
The acceleration timing for 0 to 100 kmph is 7.9 seconds, and top speed goes up to 175 kmph for both variants. Support DC chargers up to 194 kW, which take 15 minutes for 30 to 80 percent charging and 24 minutes for 10 to 80 percent. Reports suggest that just charging for 15 minutes can add an NEDC range of 235 km. It is available with three different driving modes, which are Sport, Comfort, and Custom.
Features an independent MacPherson strut with a stabilizer (anti-roll) bar at the front and an independent multi-link with a stabilizer (anti-roll) bar at the rear. The front and rear wheels have ventilated discs and solid discs, respectively. Comes with the rack-and-pinion with electric power steering to ensure easier steering with less effort and multi-level regenerative braking, which helps the braking force in the battery pack strongly, resulting in improving efficiency.
Inside, it has a two-spoke steering wheel under which there’s a 10.2-inch fully digital instrument cluster that shows all the driving data. It also has an Augmented Reality (AR) Head-Up Display (HUD), which projects driving data on the windshield. The center console has two wireless phone charging pads and cup holders to enhance practicality and convenience for the driver and co-passenger.
The center of the dashboard gets a 14.6-inch central touchscreen infotainment display, which features wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, voice control, gesture control, remote smartphone connectivity via app, and over-the-air (OTA) software updates. The infotainment system is integrated with the 14-speaker Sony premium sound system to ensure a better experience.
The exclusive variant comes with heated and ventilated front seats. Their seat has nappa leather upholstery and a panoramic glass sunroof to make the cabin airy. They also have tri-zone automatic climate control, enabling different temperatures for the driver, co-passenger, and rear seating occupants. This variant comes with 64-color ambient lighting to enhance the nighttime driving experience.
Features power-adjustable front seats and rear air-conditioning vents in both variants. Available with seating capacity of 5 people in 2-3 layouts, two separate seats in the first two and three seats in second row in a bench-like structure. It is equipped with a Level 2 advanced driving assistant system suite, which enhances the driving convenience. For safety, it has seven airbags and ISOFIX child-seat anchor points.
