The premium luxury SUV brand of Great Wall Motor, Wey, has finally started the pre-sale for the Wey V8X, the flagship plug-in hybrid electric sport utility vehicle, on July 29, 2026; the launch is all set to take place in August 2026. Notably, the pre-order is taking place in two variants, including Ultra and Ultra+. Notably, they haven’t announced the price.
Anyone who exercises the blind pre-order by depositing an amount of 2,000 yuan (0.29 lakh rupees) is all set to get the discount of 5,000 yuan (0.71 lakh rupees) on the final price. There’s no update on the actual price; we are expecting it to cost between 320,000 yuan (45.20 lakh rupees) and 350,000 yuan (49.43 lakh rupees).
They will announce the actual price for the model with the launch. Since they have filed for sales licenses for the model in the Chinese market, many details have emerged. Notably, its dimensions in terms of length, width, and height are 5,125 mm, 2,025 mm, and 1,821 mm, respectively. Its wheelbase measures 3,050 mm.
The Ultra and Ultra+ of the Wey V8X are built on GWM’s Hi4 intelligent AWD hybrid systems. The former one gets a 1.5-liter four-cylinder turbocharged petrol-powered internal combustion engine that generates the power of 125 kW (170 hp), but the latter one, with 2.0 liters, delivers the maximum power of 175 kW (235 hp).
They both get a permanent magnet synchronous motor on the front axle and a P4 electric motor on the rear. Notably, the ICE and PMSM are mated with a 4-speed dedicated hybrid transmission, and they both feature an all-wheel-drive drivetrain. The front and rear electric motors generate the power of 110 kW and 220 kW, respectively.
The combined power output for Ultra and Ultra+ is 450 kW (603 hp) and 500 kW (670 hp), respectively; the peak torque for the former one is 790 Nm, and the latter one is 930 Nm. Equipped with a 66.6 kWh ternary lithium-ion battery pack giving the emission-free CLTC range of 402 km, but on your WLTC condition it only runs up to 312 km.

Both are built on 800-volt electrical architecture supporting 6C ultra-fast DC charging; the first one takes 4.9 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h and reach the maximum speed of 210 km, and the second takes only 4.5 seconds. When the battery is depleted, it takes 0.2 seconds more; its maximum speed is 225 km/h.
With maximum charging output, it takes only 9 minutes for 30 to 80 percent charging. Notably, the charging of just 5 minutes adds 170 km of CLTC range. The carmaker has also unveiled the combined range: when the battery pack is fully charged and the fuel tank is full, the Ultra and Ultra+ can run up to 1,638 km and 1,659 km, respectively.
Equipped with GWM’s latest intelligent driving system, which features parking space to parking space Navigation on autopilot using the roof-mounted LiDAR, multiple cameras, and millimeter-wave radars. Outside, it has full-width LED DRLs that connect with the main headlights that are placed at the corner below the hood.
The cabin features a round-shaped four-spoke steering wheel, under which there’s a slim digital instrument cluster. The infotainment system is available above the center, and the co-passenger entertainment screen is just to the right of the infotainment screen. Its interior image reveals it has one wireless phone charging pad and two cup holders on the center console for better practicality.

Other notable features inside the cabin are premium leather upholstery for all seats; the front ones are electronically adjustable, and they also feature ventilation, heating, and massage functions. Also features 256-color ambient lighting, a premium sound system, multiple USB charging ports, and a panoramic sunroof to add premiumness to the cabin.
