Citroen ë-C3X vs Tata Tiago EV — Is 45km Extra Range Worth ₹2.5 Lakh?

Citroën launched the eC3X, an all-electric crossover hatchback, on June 17, 2026, whose main rival in the Indian market is Tata’s Tiago EV Facelift, a pure-electric conventional hatchback. Here, we have come with the side-by-side comparison between these two electric vehicles. Let’s have a closer look at this rivalry.

  • The Citroen eC3X is the one which offers the longest range.
  • The Tiago EV facelift has less time for DC charging.
  • Both have the same size touchscreen infotainment system with two speakers for the sound system.

Battery pack 

The eC3X is equipped with a 29.2 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery, which gives the ARAI-certified range of 325 km. It supports a DC charger up to 30 kW, which takes 57 minutes for 0-30% charging. 

On the other hand, the Tiago EV facelift is offered with two that are 19.2 kWh and 24 kWh, giving a range of 226 km and 285 km, respectively. It also supports a 30 kW DC charger, which takes 25 to 30 minutes for 10-80% charging.

Compared to the Tiago EV facelift, the eC3X has a large battery pack of 4.2 kWh to 10 kWh, giving 40 km to 90 km more range. In terms of charging, the Citroen EV takes 27 minutes to 32 minutes longer.

Motor setup 

Tiago ev facelift

The eC3X and Tiago EV facelift both get a permanent magnet synchronous motor with a one-speed automatic gearbox on the front axle, featuring a front-wheel-drive drivetrain. 

The former’s PMSM generates the power of 57 hp and 145 Nm torque, which takes 6.8 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 60 km/h, and its top speed is 107 km/h. The latter delivers 62 hp and 110 Nm with the standard battery and 75 hp and 114 Nm with the larger one; to sprint from 0 to 60 km/h it takes 5.7 seconds to 8 seconds, and it can go up to 120 km/h top speed. 

Compared to the Tata EV, the Citroën EV generates 5 hp to 18 hp less power and 31 Nm to 35 Nm more torque. The eC3X takes 1.1 seconds more to accelerate from 0 to 60 km/h compared to a large battery pack and 2.3 seconds less with a standard one, and in terms of top speed, the Citroen EV is slower by 12 km/h. 

Dimensions

Both the eC3X and Tiago EV Facelift come with a seating capacity of 5 people in 2-3 layouts with 315 litres and 240 litres, respectively. The former’s dimensions in terms of length are 3,981 mm, width is 1,733 mm, height is 1,586 mm, wheelbase is 2,540 mm, and ground clearance is 170 mm.

The latter’s length, width, height, wheelbase and ground clearance are 3,825 mm, 1,684 mm, 1,562 mm, 2,400 mm and 170 mm, respectively. Compared to the Tata EV, the Citroen is 156 mm longer, 49 mm wider, and 24 mm taller. The eC3X has a 140 mm longer wheelbase and 75 litres more boot space.

Interior 

The eC3X and Tiago EV Facelift get a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system at the centre supporting wireless connectivity via Android Auto and Apple CarPlay with a six-speaker sound system. The former gets a 7-inch TFT digital instrument cluster, and the latter features a 5-inch part-digital TFT instrument cluster under the steering wheel.

Ex-showroom price 

The eC3X is available with the ex-showroom price of ₹11.99 lakh, and the Tiago EV Facelift is in four variants: the Smart 19 with ₹6.99 lakh, the Pure Plus 19 with ₹8.49 lakh, the Pure Plus 24 with ₹9.49 lakh, and the Creative Plus 24 with ₹9.99 lakh. Compared to the Tiago EV facelift, the eC3X costs ₹2 lakh to ₹5 lakh more.
