Beijing Hyundai, a joint venture of BAIC Group and Hyundai Motor, has revealed the all-new Ioniq V fastback sedan for the Chinese market. Its launch is most likely in the second quarter of 2026, with the price range from 180,000 to 250,000 yuan, which translates to 25,000 to 35,000 in dollars.
The car features the seating capacity of 5 people in the configuration of 2 and 3, whose length, width, height and wheelbase are 4,900 mm, 1,890 mm, 1,470 mm and 2,900 mm, respectively. In China, its main competitors are Xpeng P7, Nio ET5 and BYD Seal.
Gets Horizon HUD & LLM-Based AI Smart Assistant
The Ioniq V is equipped with a 27-inch 4K panoramic display that dominates the dashboard; it includes infotainment, vehicle controls and navigation. Instead of a digital instrument cluster, it gets a Horizon Head-Up Display which projects the driving data such as speed, navigation and alerts on the windscreen so drivers keep their eyes on the road.
The cabin features an LLM-based AI smart assistant which supports the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chipset that enables climate control, navigation, media and vehicle settings with the voice command that too in natural language. A setup of an eight-speaker sound system is available with Dolby Atmos for a 3D sound experience.
It features multi-colour ambient lighting in Nebula style that enhances cabin aesthetics, a three-spoke steering wheel with touch-sensitive controls, and insulation to reduce wind noise and road noise to enhance the cabin experience. Another notable feature is Momenta-powered ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), which makes driving stress-free.
Features Frameless Doors & V-Shape Alloy Wheels

The overall design of the Ioniq V is based on ‘The Origin’ philosophy with clean surfaces, strong proportions and futuristic lighting. Up front it gets a split headlights setup to give it a sharp and high-tech look; light-blade DRLs (daylight running lights) add a futuristic appearance, are closed off for modern EV styling, and improve aerodynamics.
On the sides, the vehicle comes with a coupe-like roofline to improve airflow, frameless doors to add a premium touch, flush door handles to reduce drag, floating side mirrors for less wind resistance and V-shaped alloy wheels for better road grip, and in the back it gets full-width ‘Star Track’ LED taillights to improve the visual width and presence and sloping rear glass.
All-Disc Brake & Independent Suspension Likely

The automaker will reveal the braking and suspension details for the Ioniq V with the launch, but it is certain that all wheels will get disc brakes that feature strong stopping power. Expected to get all the braking technology, which includes Anti-lock Braking System, Electronic Brakeforce Distribution and Electronic Stability Control.
The front wheels are expected to get MacPherson strut suspension, which combines a shock absorber and spring into one unit which gives a smooth steering feel, and the rear is multi-link; it is a more advanced and premium setup, which provides better stability at high speeds and also improves the ride comfort on rough terrain.
Comes with 800-V electric architecture & 600+ km CLTC range
The Ioniq V powertrain and performance details are yet to be revealed. Reports say that the launch will happen as an EV (Electric Vehicle) with a one-motor RWD drivetrain or double-motor AWD configuration and a battery pack and as an EREV (Extended Range Electric Vehicle) with an engine, a one-/two-motor RWD/AWD drivetrain and a battery pack.
The electrical architecture for both EV and EREV is set to be 800-volt, which means they will support ultra-fast charging. The CLTC range of the EV is revealed; it will travel more than 600 km on a full charge. The acceleration for AWD trims is expected to be quicker than RWD variants because of the double motor setup.
