Maextro, Huawei, and JAC Group, under Huawei’s HIMA, showcased the ‘Maextro S800 Grand Design Collector’s Edition’ at the 2026 Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area International Auto Show on May 29, 2026, for which the pre-sale has already started. However, the price is still pending. Reportedly, it will cost around 1.6 to 2 million yuan, which translates to 2.24 to 2.84 crore rupees. Once launched, it will compete with the Rolls-Royce Ghost and Mercedes-Maybach S-Class.
The high-end luxury sedan is all set to make its debut in the Chinese market with an all-electric and plug-in hybrid electric powertrain. The EV comes with a dual electric motor setup, meaning one is mounted on each axle, featuring an all-wheel drive (AWD) drivetrain using single-speed automatic transmissions. The power output of the front and rear motors is 160 kW (215 hp) and 230 kW (308 hp), respectively, but the combined power output is 390 kW (523 hp).
Its motors get power from a 95 kWh CATL Qilin NMC battery pack, which runs up to 702 km in CLTC condition. Notably, it accelerates from 0 to 100 kmph in 4.3 seconds, and the maximum speed it can reach is 210 kmph. The Chinese EV brand claims that it supports a 5c ultra-fast DC charger, which takes 12 minutes to charge from 10 to 80 percent. With this charging speed, now the user won’t have to take a long break for charging and can go for long drives without having range anxiety.

The EREV is equipped with three electric motors; one is mounted on the front axle and the other two on the rear axle, meaning it is also an AWD drivetrain EV. Under the hood, it gets a 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine that acts as a generator to power the battery that the motors use; notably, its power output is 127 kW (170 hp). The front motor generates the maximum power of 160 kW (215 hp), and the rear motor produces 237.5 kW (318 hp), but the combined output is 635 kW (851 hp).
It also gets a Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited’s NMC battery pack whose capacity is 65 kWh. Notably, its pure-electric CLTC range is 365 km, and its combined range is 1,200 km. Compared to the EV version, the acceleration timing for 0 to 100 km/h is slightly slower; it takes 4.7 seconds, meaning 0.4 more compared to its own pure-electric counterpart. Its top speed is 200 km; it is also 10 km slower than the EV version.

The EREV supports a 6c DC charger, meaning it supports fast charging compared to a pure electric powertrain. It takes only 10.5 minutes to charge from 10 to 80 percent, meaning 1.5 minutes less time. For each 100 kilometers of driving, its fuel consumption is 0.20 to 0.27 liters when the battery is fully charged but 7.28 to 7.50 liters when the battery is depleted. Notably, the standard EREV version is also available with a dual motor setup, but it is unlikely that it will be offered with the Grand Design Collector’s Edition.
Dimensionally, it is 5,480 mm longer and 2,000 mm wider. It comes with two body heights that are 1,536 mm and 1,542 mm, and the wheelbase is 3,370 mm. It is set to be introduced with the seating capacity of 4 people, and it will run on 21-inch alloy wheels. Both the EV (Electric Vehicle) and EREV (Extended Range Electric Vehicle) have a boot space of 445 liters, with which you can easily carry up to 3 big pieces of luggage. Notably, the pure-electric variant also features a 62-liter frunk (front trunk storage) that helps in carrying the small items conveniently.
It is set to be equipped with the Huawei Qiankun ADS 5.0 ADAS, which uses multiple cameras and LiDAR sensors and features both urban and highway navigation autopilots and autonomous parking. Reportedly, the cabin’s dashboard is all set to be equipped with three touchscreens that include a drive display, an infotainment system, and a passenger entertainment screen. It will also have a 76-inch AR-HUD and many premium features like a built-in refrigerator, zero-gravity seats, 16.8 million colors for ambient lighting, a 43-speaker sound system, and much more.
