Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch four electric vehicles for the Indian market in the next five years, i.e., by the year 2031. It is officially confirmed by Partho Banerjee, who is Senior Executive Officer of Marketing and Sales of the company while talking to media persons.
During the media interaction, he also said that the company has recently achieved a milestone of delivering 108 units of e-Vitara in a single day. They made it possible through the occasion of the customer handover ceremony at the JRC Convention Centre, Hyderabad.
The Maruti Suzuki’s first EV, e Vitara, is available in the Indian market with the starting ex-showroom price of ₹15.99 lakh, which goes upto ₹20.01 lakh. All about the upcoming four electric vehicles from the company are discussed in detail below.
Upcoming 4 EVs from Maruti Suzuki
Maruti Suzuki has not yet confirmed which electric vehicles they are going to launch by 2031. Reports say that one of them is going to be a hatchback, second is an MPV, third is a crossover SUV, and the fourth is an off-road SUV. Learn about each from below.
Electric Hatchback
It is likely to come with a tall body, which may feature a short bonnet and upright stance for better visibility. Like other EVs, it will get a closed-off look for EV styling. It is certain to get LED DRLs and headlamps to give it a little styling look and is expected to run on alloy wheels that provide better efficiency.
The interior gets two big touchscreens for the infotainment system and digital instrument cluster. It is set to support Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and comes with other smart features that ensure the journey remains comfortable. It may be introduced with an ex-showroom price around ₹10 lakh.

Electric MPV
It may be based on Ertiga proportions with modern design. It features a long body to make it an ideal seven-seater with the configuration of two, three and two. It will come with a single motor that is expected to be mounted with the rear axle, featuring a rear-wheel drive drivetrain. Its ex-showroom price is likely to start with ₹12 lakh and go up to ₹18 lakh.
Its front fascia is expected to feature an aerodynamic closed-off grill and LED headlights and DRLs to give it a modern appearance. The cabin is going to be quite spacious, providing ample legroom for all occupants. It will feature a large-screen infotainment system with a premium audio system and also get a digital driver display that shows all the driving data.
Electric Crossover SUV
It may get a sporty look like the Fronx; up front it will get a closed EV grille and sharp LED DRLs. The rear is set to get connected LED tail lamps and a clean tailgate design to give a modern back look. It is more likely to have a 9-inch infotainment system and 7-inch digital instrument cluster. It will come with a seating capacity of 5 people with a layout of 2-3.
In the company’s EV portfolio, it may be positioned below the e-Vitara. The expected ex-showroom price is between ₹12 lakh and ₹15 lakh, depending on variants. It is likely to come with a large battery pack which may feature a range up to 500 km on one charge and will support DC fast charging.
Electric Off-Road SUV
Its style will be rugged and muscular like Jimmy but with better aerodynamics. It is certain to feature two motor setups, one on the front axle and another on the rear, featuring an all-wheel drive configuration. It features high ground clearance, circular LED headlamps, and chunky bumpers with skid plates.
Its ex-showroom price may start from ₹14 lakh and go up to ₹18 lakh. Its interior features smart technology to ensure the comfort and convenience of occupants. For safety driving, it will feature level 2 ADAS and other features. It is set to get large alloy wheels with tubeless tyres for a better off-roading experience.
