Mazda has started pre-sales for the refreshed Mazda CX-6e, a mid-size electric SUV, in China on August 22, 2026. The new thing in this car is that it comes with the roof-mounted 1 LiDAR, enabling navigation on autopilot not only for city driving but also for highway cruising. It also has 11 HD cameras, 3 millimetre-wave radars, and 12 ultrasonic radars. The total number of sensors is 27; they are part of Level 2 ADAS, which features 200+ assisted-driving and safety scenarios.
The navigation on autopilot on highways works at up to 130 kmph with assistance in automatic lane changes, overtaking, obstacle avoidance, highway on- or off-ramps, service-area entry/exit levels, speed-limit assistance, intelligent lane positioning, and safe stopping or parking; but in cities, it works at up to 80 kmph with traffic intersections, roundabouts, U-turns, traffic-light situations, lane changes, main road to side road transitions, and avoiding illegally parked vehicles.
Additionally, it comes with the smart parking features that include automatic parking, remote parking, custom parking, memory parking, follow-the-route reversing, automatic parking with the driver outside the vehicle, and side parking assistance. In China, the Mazda CX-6e is known by the name of Mazda EZ-60. The pricing details are still undisclosed for this refreshed version; for reference, the existing one starts with the price range from 119,900 yuan (17.08 lakh) to 166,900 yuan (₹23.8 lakh).

The refreshed version will help the vehicle to strengthen its positioning against the rivals, which are XPeng G9, Xiaomi YU7, and Deepal S07. The one already on sale was launched back in September 2025, and within a year, Mazda is reintroducing the nameplate with upgrades. Since the launch, a total of 32,087 units have been sold; the breakdown for the month-wise sales is available inside the table that we shared below.

After the refreshed version market launch, which is most likely to happen in September 2026, the sale may see a boost. In July 2026, 2,929 units were sold out, only 13 units more than the previous month. Except for the above upgrades, the rest remain the same with the Mazda CX-6e (EZ-60). Currently it is available for sale as a BEV and also an EREV. The carmaker is yet to reveal that the refreshed version is coming only as a BEV or EREV; however, the report suggests it comes as both.
Dimensionally, they are identical. The length, width, and height are 4,850 mm, 1,935 mm, and 1,620 mm, respectively, with the wheelbase of 2,902 mm. The wheel options are the 19-inch and the 21-inch. The BEV and EREV both get an electric motor on the rear axle that delivers the power of 190 kW (255 hp) with the top speed of 185 km/h. The EREV also has a 1.5-litre four-cylinder naturally aspirated ICE that acts as a generator delivering 72 kW (97 hp) power.

The BEV gets a 77.94 kWh LFP battery pack from CALB, and the EREV features CATL-Changan’s 31.73 kWh unit. The CLTC-range pure-electric range for BEV and EREV is 585-600 km and 200 km, respectively; they both support 3C charging, which takes 15 minutes to charge the battery pack from 10-30% charging. Once the battery depletes for EREV, the ICE takes the work and powers the electric motor and whole electric system of the car.
