Mercedes-Benz India has officially confirmed that they will launch the GLC electric to the Indian market by late 2026. Its global debut happened back in September 2025, and almost 1 year after that the model will make its Indian debut. The launch in the Indian market will take place as a locally assembled electric vehicle, not as a CBU imported.
Reports confirm that its booking will start in India in October 2026, and a few weeks after that, the market launch will take place. There is no confirmed date for the date on which it will go on sale, but we are expecting it to happen in December 2026 with the ex-showroom around ₹85 lakh.
Once the booking begins, interested buyers will be able to show their purchase interest by visiting the nearest dealership of the Mercedes-Benz or through the official website. Drivers who will book a unit of the upcoming electric mid-size SUV will get the delivery preference for sure.
The design of the upcoming Mercedes-Benz electric cais set to be similar to the one that already made a global debut. Outside of this EV, we get to see an EQ-inspired large grill with a chrome accent on its surroundings. Get an integrated LED headlight setup with a star-motif daylight running light and slim adaptive projector headlamps.
Other highlights from its front-end are the sculpted bumper and aerodynamic air curtains. Its sides get sculpted wheel arches bracketing the up to 21-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels, a hidden flush-type door handle, black-outed pillars, double-tone outside side rear view mirrors integrating the side indicators, and a coupe-like floating roofline.
The rear has a full-width LED taillight setup with a twin star-shaped pattern and one slim horizontal line, a roof-integrated spoiler with the stop light, a sporty diffuser-style bumper, and a Mercedes-Benz logo on the tailgate. The dimension for the Indian-spec model will also be the same as the one already on sale in the international market; they are:

- Wheelbase: 3,023 mm
For clarity, compared to the GLC available with an internal combination engine (ICE), it is 142 mm longer with 82 mm more wheelbase, 23 mm wider, and 9 mm taller. The expected exterior colour options are Lavender Silver and Obsidian Black, because they are also offered overseas.
This upcoming SUV from the German luxury car maker is available with the sitting capacity of 5 people in the traditional two-three arrangement globally; the same sitting will be offered for the Indian market. Even though the cargo capacity will remain the same as the overseas model, which is 570 litres, it can be extended to 1,740 litres.
There is also a 110-litre frunk that helps in carrying the small items such as charging cables and tier-changing gears. Interior features are also expected to remain similar to the globally debuted model; the cabin may get the following:
- 39.1-inch MBUX Superscreen on the dashboard that integrates the digital instrument cluster, entertainment system, and entertainment screen.
- Wireless connectivity by Android Auto and Apple CarPlay for the cockpit.
- Hey Mercedes voice assistant.
- Two wireless phone charging pads on the centre console.
- Powered driver and co-passenger seat with memory function and heating and ventilation features.
- Burmester 3D surround sound system with Dolby Atmos.
Apart from the above-mentioned interior features, they will be more to enhance the comfort, convenience and safety of occupants. These all features will be revealed officially with the launch. Mercedes-Benz has officially confirmed the model coming to India is GLC Electric 400 4MATIC.
This variant is also available for sale in a few international markets getting electric motors; one is mounted on each axle, and they combinedly cranks 360 kW power and 800 Nm torque by getting power from a 94 kWh lithium-ion NMC battery pack. It’s 0 to 100 km/h sprinting in just 4.3 seconds, and reaches a maximum speed of 210 km/h.
It is based on 800-volt electrical architecture, runs up to 715 km on WLTP conditions after each full charge, and supports a DC charger of up to 300 kW that takes only 22 minutes to charge the battery pack from 10 to 80%. With just 10 minutes of charging, it can add a WLTP range of 303 km. The ARAI-certified range and other details will emerge with its launch in India.
