Zhengzhou Nissan, a joint venture between Dongfeng Motor and Nissan Motors, is all set to launch the next-generation Nissan NV200, a plug-in hybrid electric multi-purpose vehicle, in the Chinese market in the near future. Recently, this MPV has been spotted testing on public roads in China.
In the spy shots shared online, the vehicle is totally undisguised, which reveals the exterior and interior of the vehicle. Let’s have a closer look at this upcoming MPV.
Upfront, it features a double enclosed grille to give the modern touch and better aerodynamics; thin and angular headlamp units to improve visibility on the road for nighttime driving; a large lower intake to keep the electrical components cool; and a sculpted bumper with an air curtain that helps in reducing wind resistance.
On the sides, it has three flat-spoke alloy wheels for bold road presence, a black outside rear-view mirror with integrated blinkers to provide a clear view of the blind spot, and a sliding rear door to help with easy tight-spot loading; and at the back, it gets a large windshield for better rear visibility and NISSAN lettering on the tailgate for branding.

Inside, it features a two-spoke steering wheel under which a digital instrument cluster is visible that shows the driving data, and a large infotainment system is present in the center of the dashboard that can be used for multiple purposes, such as streaming video or audio and seeing the side-by-side navigation.
The central console has two cup holders and a wireless phone charging pad for practicality. Exactly below the infotainment system, physical buttons can be found; they are for control and settling of vehicles.
May comes with the seating capacity of 5 people in a 2-3 layout and 8 people in a 2-3-3 layout. The cargo space in the five-seater is set to be huge, which will help in carrying multiple big pieces of luggage easily, but the same in the eight-seater is anticipated to be tight and capable of carrying the small pieces of luggage.
Reportedly, the next-generation Nissan NV200 will borrow the powertrain from the Nissan N6, a plug-in hybrid electric sedan, which gets a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol-powered internal combustion engine under the hood, and a permanent magnet synchronous motor with one-speed dedicated hybrid transmission on the front axle featuring a front-wheel drive drivetrain.
The ICE generates the power of 101 hp (75 kW) and torque 135 Nm, but the PMSM delivers 208 hp (155 kW) and 320 Nm, which takes 6.8 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h, and the top speed is 160 km/h.

Equipped with a 21.1 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate battery pack, whose pure-electric CLTC range is 180 km, it supports a DC charger up to 42 kWh, which takes 17 minutes for 30 to 80 percent charging. When the battery is depleted, it consumes 2.79 to 3.1 liters of fuel for each 100 km of driving.
Reportedly, it is built on Nissan’s CMF-B architecture, whose front suspension is MacPherson strut and whose rear is torsion beam. The front suspension helps with good ride comfort and predictable handling, and the rear ensures comfort and stability rather than sporty handling.
The ventilated disc manages the braking for the front wheels, but the drum does the work. To ensure safe braking, it does feature ABS, which prevents wheel locking during sudden braking; EBD, which distributes braking force among all the wheels for better stopping power; and ESC, which keeps the vehicle from sliding off the road on sharp turns.
The carmaker hasn’t revealed any date for the next-generation Nissan NV200 launch; reports suggest that they will introduce it to the Chinese market in late 2026, and its price may be between 80,000 yuan and 130,000 yuan, equivalent to ₹11.14 lakh to ₹13.92 lakh.
