Rolls-Royce 2-Seater Nightingale Luxury EV Unveiled: Only 100 Units, Deliveries From 2028

The British luxury automobile manufacturer, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, has unveiled a luxury two-seater electric vehicle, Project Nightingale. It will be hand-built at the brand’s headquarters at Goodwood, West Sussex, in a limited unit of 100. Its delivery is set to begin in 2028.

Its design is totally inspired by 1920s Rolls-Royce experimental EX models. In terms of length, it measures 5.76 metres, same as its sibling Phantom, a flagship SUV. It is positioned between private commission and coachbuild products in the brand portfolio.

With the revealing of Project Nightingale by Rolls-Royce, we have got to know all about its exterior and design and interior and features. Here, we have discussed the same and also what can be expected about its powertrain and performance.

Design & Exterior

Up front, it features a Pantheon grille but is closed off for EV styling, giving a modern yet heritage-rich look. The ‘Spirit of Ecstasy’, also known as the ‘flying lady’ on the hood, maintains its brand identity. Its headlights are quite slim and vertical, which adds a clean and minimalist luxury feel that also enhances width perception.

On the sides, there’s a long bonnet and short rear deck that reflects its classic luxury proportion and also gives it a GT stance. As it’s a two-seater, it features a two-door convertible layout, and handles on the door are flush-type to improve aerodynamics and add premiumness. It gets 24-inch alloy wheels with a turbine-style design.

The rear is very clean and cluttered; it gets slim LED taillights in a vertical shape that add a modern and premium light signature. The rear stance is quite wide, which enhances road presence, and the tail section is smooth, as there’s no exhaust pipe since it’s an EV. For branding, the Rolls-Royce badge is placed elegantly.

Interior & Features

It has a French Riviera theme, which includes blue, white, navy and pink accents. Both seats are double-toned, which adds a rich and artistic feel. The armrest is motorised and automatically moves when the food is opened. There’s a hidden strong compartment under the armrest for practicality.

It features Starlight Breeze Lighting with 10,500 LEDs that create a magical feel inside the cabin. The lightning design mimics nightingale bird sound waves, adding more aesthetics. The ambient lighting is available across the cabin, which gives an immersive luxury experience. Sound-deadening technology is also available that gives a silent cabin experience.

Powertrain & Performance

Nothing about the Project Nightingale’s power train and performance is confirmed by the Rolls-Royce. As it is all set to be based on Spectre, the brand-first EV, reports say that it may come with the same specification. For reference, it is equipped with two motors; one is mounted with the rear and another with the front axle, featuring an AWD configuration.

Its power output and peak torque for the standard variant are 584 hp and 900 Nm; the black badge trim has 659 hp and 1075 Nm. It comes with a single lithium-ion battery pack, which is 112 kWh, featuring a range of 530 km on the WLTP cycle. The 0-100 km/h acceleration timing for the standard and black badge is 4.5 seconds and 4.1 seconds, respectively.

The transmission is set to be single-speed automatic. The top speed is 250 km/h for trims. It supports DC chargers up to 195 kW.. With maximum capacity it takes 34 minutes to charge from 10 to 80%, which adds a WLTP range of 330 km. It comes with an 11 kW AC charger, which takes up to 9 hours for a full charge.
