Tata Motors introduced the Tiago EV in the Indian market in September 2022, and it gets a facelift in January 2025. Recently, it has been spotted testing on roads in Maharashtra, which hints towards another facelift. As per the reports, the updated Tiago EV may be launched in May 2026.
It won’t have only cosmetic changes inside the interior and on the exterior but also may come with a larger battery pack. The updated version will be available for sale with a slightly higher price compared to the outgoing model; it is expected that the ex-showroom price will be ₹9 lakh to ₹12 lakh.
Exterior & Design
The spy shots from the road-testing have revealed many things about its exterior design and stylishness. Up front, it is set to get a sharper headlamp design that gives it a more aggressive and modern face. It will likely have integrated LED daylight running lights, giving a premium and cohesive lighting signature. The front bumper is also redesigned, which features a cleaner and futuristic look.
In profile, it gets 14-inch newly designed alloy wheels which are aero-optimised and help in improving efficiency. The door handles are still in traditional design for better practicality. At the back, we may get to see connected tail lamps that will enhance its road presence. The bumper at the rear is revised, the same as the front, which not only gives a wider look but also makes it recognisable even from the back.

Interior & Features
The interior of the 2nd facelift of the Tiago EV will feature a refreshed dashboard design to improve the ergonomics. The semi-digital instrument cluster is most likely to be replaced by a fully digital instrument that will show all driving data and navigation. The infotainment system is also expected to be upgraded; it may be now a 10.25-inch touchscreen with an enhanced UI.
The steering wheel may also be updated; it is more likely to come with two rings and Tata’s logo at the centre. The seat fabric is also expected to be updated with more soft-touch materials for better comfort. Rear AC vents aren’t available in the outgoing model, but it may get to keep the occupants cool, and rear USB ports are expected for convenience.
To add premiumness, its top-end variant may be introduced with an electric sunroof for an airy and spacious feel; multi-colour ambient lighting is also anticipated to enhance the mood during the nighttime. For the safety of the driver and passenger, it is set to get 6 airbags and other smart features: a 360-degree camera, electronic stability control and others.
Powertrain & Performance
The outgoing model is available with two battery packs that are 19.2 kWh and 24 kWh with the range of 250 km and 315 km, respectively, reporting that the standard battery pack will be discounted. The 2nd facelift is most likely to be available with a 24 kWh and a 30 kWh battery pack whose range may be 315 km and around 390 km, respectively.
The power output and peak torque for the 24 kWh battery pack are 75 PS and 114 Nm, respectively, and the same for the 30 kWh battery pack are 88 PS and 154 Nm. It will be available with a single PMS motor which will be mounted with a front axle featuring a front-wheel-drive drivetrain; the transmission is set to be single-speed automatic.
The upcoming Tiago EV from Tata Motors is expected to support DC chargers up to 50 kW that will take around 25-30 minutes for 0 to 80 per cent charging. It may come with a 7.2 kW portal AC charger for home charging convenience, which will take around 4-5 hours for the full charge, depending on the battery pack.
