The BYD Da Han, a flagship sedan, will make its debut in the Chinese market with both plug-in hybrid electric and battery electric powertrains. Reportedly, Build Your Dream will launch this electrified sedan in the third quarter of 2026. Recently, the production-ready version of the same was spotted testing undisguised in China; the spy shots of it are floating on the web, which reveal its exterior. Let’s have a closer look:
- Upfront it has ultra-slim split-style LED headlights, a full-width LED daylight running light, side air curtains, lower air intakes, and a roof-mounted lidar sensor.
- On the sides, it features flared wheel arches, multi-spoke alloy wheels, a front-door-mounted double-toned outside rear-view mirror, and flush-type door handles.
- At the back, it gets a through-type, full-width LED taillight with the BYD lettering at the center of the tailgate, a roof-integrated windshield, black bumper cladding with a skid plate, and a number plate holder on the tailgate.
China’s MIIT filing catalogue release has already revealed BYD Da Han dimensions. The upcoming sedan from BYD measures 5,256 mm in length, 1,999 mm in width, and 1,510 mm in height. Its wheelbase, the distance between the axles, is 3130 mm. It will make its debut as a five-seater in a 2-3 layout because its proportions allow all occupants to get ample legroom, headroom, and shoulder room.
Reportedly, it is set to be equipped with the DiPilot 5.0, an advanced driving assistant system, which supports navigation autopilot for both city driving and highway cruising. The biggest hint towards it is the light detection and ranging sensor that sits on the roof. Rear-wheel steering is also expected for this model, which reduces the turning radius by moving the rear wheel opposite to the front ones when driving at low speeds.

Some reports are also suggesting that the carmaker will introduce the flagship sedan, BYD Da Han, with adaptive suspension to ensure a comfortable driving experience on types of terrains, electronic stability control, intelligent torque distribution, regenerative braking, and multiple driving modes for comfort and efficiency depending on road conditions.
The BYD Da Han will feature up to 10 airbags for the safety of occupants. All set to feature an ISOFIX child-seat mount to safely knot the child seat; other features that it may get are a tire pressure monitoring system, which alerts when the tire pressure is down; an anti-locking braking system, which helps in avoiding the wheel lock in case of sudden braking; and electronic brake distribution to distribute the braking force among all wheels.
Interior features are yet to be revealed. It is certain that it will have a digital instrument cluster before the driving seat and a landscape-oriented touchscreen display at the center of the dashboard for infotainment, which is set to be integrated with a multiple-speaker premium sound system. Other features of this flagship electrified sedan are the following:
- Two wireless phone charging pads,
- Multiple USB charging ports,
- Compartment storage,
- Head-up display,
- Automatic climate control, and
- Multiple-color ambient lighting.
The battery electric vehicle will make its debut with a single-motor rear-wheel-drive and a double-motor all-wheel-drive powertrain. The power output is 370 kW (496 hp) with a top speed of 240 km/h for RWD and 570 kW (764 hp) with a maximum speed of 270 km/h for AWD. The CLTC range is 880 km to 1,008 km for the rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive variants, respectively.

And the plug-in hybrid electric vehicle is equipped with a 115 kW (154 hp) 1.5-liter four-cylinder turbocharged petrol-powered internal combustion engine and a 200 kW (268 hp) electric motor. Equipped with a 54.489 kWh LFP Blade Battery, whose CLTC range is 370 km. The fuel efficiency when the battery pack is depleted is 4.6 liters per 100 km, and the top speed is 225 km/h.
