Two EVs from Tata Motors are set to make their debut in the Indian market; one of them is the Tata Sierra EV and the other is the Tata Safari EV. Reportedly, the former is expected to make its debut in late May 2026 and may cost ex-showroom between ₹15 lakh and ₹25 lakh; the latter’s launch is likely in October 2026 with an expected ex-showroom price starting from ₹26 lakh, and the top end may go up to ₹32 lakh. Let’s have a closer look at them.
Tata Sierra EV

The Sierra EV is built on the acti.ev platform; it is set to be introduced to the Indian market with both single-motor front-wheel drive and dual-motor all-wheel drive configurations. Both may use a single-speed automatic transmission. Reports say that it will come with two LFP battery packs, 65 kWh and 75 kWh.
The former one, a battery pack, is expected to come with FWD, and the latter one with the AWD variant. The range on a full charge is likely to be between 500 km and 600 km. The 0-100 km/h acceleration timing for top trim is anticipated to be under 6 seconds, and top speed is 200 km/h, as mentioned in many reports.
Set to be introduced with a seating capacity of 7 people in a 2-3-2 layout. behind the third row, there will be a very small cargo area. The rear seats will be foldable to carry 2-3 big luggage pieces. The user may fold the third-row seat if not more than 5 people are travelling.
In the centre of the dashboard, a large, around 15-inch to 16-inch touchscreen infotainment system is spotted in spy shots. Similar to its ICE (internal combustion engine) counterpart, it will also feature a digital instrument cluster under the steering wheel.
For safety, it is set to get 6 airbags and a level 2 advanced driving assistance system featuring adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, lane departure warning and others, and all-wheel disc brakes. Once launched, it will compete with Mahindra XEV 9e, BYD Atto 3, Hyundai Creta Electric and Mahindra BE 6.
Tata Safari EV

The Safari EV is also built on acti.ev+ architecture, its debut in India will happen in both RWD and AWD drivetrain, as per reports. Nothing is officially revealed about its power train, but reliable sources say, like its sibling, the Tata Harrier EV, this electric car will also be offered with 65 kWh and 75 kWh LFP battery packs with a range of up to 600 km.
The carmaker has confirmed that its launch in the Indian market will happen in both 6- and 7-person layouts with configurations of 2-2-2 and 2-3-2. The six-seater is set to give the luxury feel with the individual captain’s seats featuring armrests and most likely adjustable headrests. Expected to feature a boot space of 150 litres, which is expandable by folding rear seats.
Dimensionally, it is set to be the same as the ICE counterpart, which measures 4668 mm in length, 1922 mm in width and 1795 mm in height. Its wheelbase is 2741 mm, and ground clearance is 200 mm. The EV’s interior is yet to be revealed, but most likely to have a floating infotainment system, fully digital instrument cluster and four-spoke steering wheel.
Both front row seats are expected to be ventilated and heated, which will keep the driver and front seating cool during hot weather and warm in extreme cold. There’s also maybe also a wireless phone charging pad and multi-colour ambient lighting inside the cabin. Once launched, it will compete with the BYD eMAX 7, Kia Carens Clavis EV and VinFast VF MPV 7.
