Haval, an automobile brand under Great Wall Motor, has officially launched the new Haval Dargo Plus PHEV for the Chinese market on May 8, 2026, priced at 165,800 yuan ($23,400).
Notably, it is also available with a trade-in promotional price of 152,800 yuan ($22,500). Its main competitors in the domestic market are BYD Fangchengbao Bao 5, Tank 300 Hi4-T, Jetour Traveller C-DM and Toyota RAV4 Prime.

It comes with a 33.7 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack featuring a pure-electric CLTC range of 200 km (124 miles); compared to the existing model, it has 95 km (59 miles) more range. The newly introduced model has a combined CLTC range of 1,000 km.
Under the hood it gets a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine with a power output of 157 hp (115 kW) and torque of 243 Nm (180 lb-ft). It comes with a dual-motor setup, one on each axle, meaning it features an AWD configuration. It uses a 2-speed dedicated hybrid transmission.
The carmaker says that the combined power output is 436 hp (320 KW), which makes its acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h (0 to 60 mph) in 5.8 seconds. Reportedly, it has a top speed of 190 km/h (118 mph).
Its design is the same as the existing model. The round LED headlights giving retro off-road character, the semi-closed grille with HAVAL lettering, and the heavy-duty bumper featuring chunky cladding are visible at the front.
In profile, it has a boxy silhouette with a flat roofline, tall windows, muscular body panels, and large wheel arches. From the sides, the roof rails are also visible; they help in carrying boxes, camping gear, etc., with tying.
Features traditional door handles to ensure better practicality and 19-inch alloy wheels that are wrapped up with 235/60 tyres. The vertical LED taillights with a rugged design, large GWM badging for branding, and upright tailgate make its rear look modern.
Dimensionally, it is 4705 mm length, 1908 mm wider and 1780 mm higher. Its approach and departure angles are 24 degrees and 30 degrees, respectively, and ground clearance is 200 mm, good enough to tackle big potholes and speed breakers easily.

Offers seating for 5 people in a layout of 2 and 3. The rear seats are bench-type. Thanks to its wheelbase of 2810 mm, each rear-seating passenger gets ample legroom. Behind the rear seats, there’s a trunk that can carry 2-3 big pieces of luggage easily.
The rear seat is foldable; doing so increases the boot space significantly and helps in carrying 7-8 big pieces of luggage with ease if only 2 people are travelling.
The cabin also remains the same; it retains a 14.6-inch floating infotainment system that acts as a control panel and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster but with new software integration, Coffee OS 3, that features a smoother UI, an improved voice assistant, and connected car features.
The infotainment supports wireless connectivity via Huawei HiCar, ICCOA Carlink and Glory Carlink. Physical buttons for shortcuts are still available below the display, and the gear selector that was mounted at the centre is now replaced with the column shifter.
Another notable feature is up to 6 kW V2L (vehicle-to-load), which helps in powering camping equipment, laptops, cooking appliances, outdoor lights and emergency devices. It proves to be very beneficial for road trips and outdoor travel.
