JSW MG Hector Hawk EV Spotted Testing In India: Based On Wuling Eksion EV?

The MG Hector Hawk EV, the nameplate yet to be confirmed by JSW MG Motors India, is highly expected to make its debut in the Indian market in late 2026. The carmaker is all set to introduce the model as a rival to the Mahindra XEV 9S, which is already on sale in India with the ex-showroom price of ₹20.65 lakh to ₹30.70 lakh. Notably, it will also compete with the Tata Safari EV, whose market launch is anticipated by August 2026.

As of now, there’s no confirmation regarding its price. We are expecting that the model will cost around ₹25 lakh. Recently, a test mule wearing camouflage has been spotted testing on public roads; the spy shots of the same are floating on the web. Even though it was heavily camouflaged, it reveals many details. At first sight, it seems to be similar to the Wuling Starlight 560 EV, which is also known by the name of Wuling Eksion EV.

The exterior image clicked during the test shows that it has horizontal-shaped LED headlights with daylight running light strips above and below the same. The closed-off front fascia confirms that the spotted test mule is an electric vehicle. Other things that spy images reveal are front-door-mounted ORVMs, roof rails, pull-type door handles, a roof-integrated spoiler above the rear windshield, and horizontal-shape LED taillamps.

The carmaker has already confirmed this upcoming pure electric vehicle is built on Advance Drive Architecture Platform Technology, which features seven individual seats in a 2-3-2 layout. They are yet to unveil the specifications and features; it is certain that they will disclose them on launch date. We are expecting it to be similar to the one already on sale in Indonesia with the name of Eksion EV under the banner of the Wuling.

The Wuling Eksion EV is sold as a front-wheel-drive vehicle, getting a permanent magnet synchronous motor on the front axle, which is mated with a single-speed automatic reduction gearbox. It gets a 69.2 kWh LFP battery pack, whose range is 530 km on the China Light-Duty Vehicle Test Cycle conditions. The peak power output is 150 kW (201 hp), and peak torque is 310 Nm (229 lb-ft).

Built on 400-volt electrical architecture supporting fast DC charging up to 100 kW, which takes 20 minutes for 30 to 80 percent charging. Just 10 minutes of DC charging with maximum output adds the range of 132 km under the CLTC condition. It comes with a standard 11 kW AC charger, with which it takes 10 hours for 10 to 100 percent charging.

The dimensions in terms of length, width, and height of the Wuling Eksion EV are 4,745 mm, 1,850 mm, and 1,755 mm, respectively. Its wheelbase is 2,810 mm, and ground clearance is 180 mm. Its cabin gets an 8.8-inch TFT digital driver display under the steering wheel and a 12.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system integrating intelligent voice control at the center of the dashboard.

The center console has a 50-word wireless phone charging pad to help with phone charging conventionally. Notably, the infotainment system is integrated with the six-speaker sound system. It also has rear air conditioning vents with automatic climate control to keep the rear seat passenger comfortable depending on weather conditions.

Other notable features inside the cabin are a PM2.5 cabin air filter to get fresh air inside the cabin, a panoramic sunroof to feel openness inside the cabin, 25 cabin storage spaces, 32-liter under-floor storage to enhance practicality, a smart key with push-button start, and front and rear USB charging ports to charge the phone conveniently.
