The Chinese automaker BYD revealed the third-generation Yuan Plus (Atto 3) on April 24, 2026, at the 2026 Beijing Auto Show. Now, they have confirmed that the launch will take place on May 21, 2026. Since its reveal, many details about the car have emerged.
Reportedly, its arrival at the showroom has already started in four variants: 540 Leading, 540 Beyond, 630 Beyond, and top-trim 630 Beyond.
Pricing is yet pending; the carmaker will reveal it with the launch. The second generation’s launch happened on March 5, 2026, with the price of 115,800 to 145,800 CNY (17,000 to 21,500 USD); the third generation is likely to be a little costlier than the second generation; it is expected to cost between 120,000 and 150,000 CNY (16,700 to 20,900 USD).
Reports say that it will get a permanent magnet synchronous motor on the rear axle, whose power output is 200 kW and 240 kW with the standard and larger battery pack, respectively. Its drivetrain is rear-wheel drive (RWD) and uses a single-speed automatic transmission, the same as its main competitors, which are the Tesla Model Y and XPeng G6.

It is built on the 800-volt electrical architecture set to get the BYD Blade 2.0 LFP battery of 57.5 kWh and 68.5 kWh, whose range on the China Light-Duty Vehicle Test Cycle is 540 km and 630 km, respectively, on a full charge. They support BYD’s ‘ultra-fast’ charging, which takes only 5 minutes for 10-70% and 9 minutes for 10-90% charging in ideal conditions.
The car is equipped with God’s Eye B ADAS, having 1 LiDAR sensor, 12 cameras, 5 millimeter-wave radars, 12 ultrasonic sensors, and the DiPilot 300 computing platform featuring processing power of 300 TOPS, whose main features are Highway NOA, Urban NOA, adaptive cruise control, lane centering assist, and automatic lane change.
It features YunNian-C Intelligent Suspension, electronically controlled suspension technology, which automatically reacts to bad roads, speed breakers, cornering, braking, and sudden lane changes to ensure better ride comfort, less body roll, and a smooth driving experience even on the rough roads.

To ensure the safety of each occupant, it gets a total of seven airbags, including a driver airbag, passenger airbag, driver-side airbag, passenger-side airbag, left curtain airbag, right curtain airbag, and knee airbag. Also features TBC (Tire Blowout Control) that keeps the car stable even in case of a tire burst.
