Build Your Dreams has finally started rolling out megawatt-level ultra-fast charging stations in Europe. On June 8, 2026, the Chinese automaker launched the first BYD’s flash charging station in Germany. They have planned to launch 3,000 such charging stations across European countries by the end of 2026.
Notably, BYD’s ultra-fast flash charging is capable of charging the compatible electric vehicle with a maximum output of 1,500 kW. It takes only 5 minutes for 10% to 70% charging and 9 minutes to charge up to 97%. Even in the case of extreme cold such as minus 30 degrees, the charging time only increased by 3 minutes.
They have planned to launch 6,000 overseas BYD ultra-fast charging stations, out of which half of the total in Europe. With the launch of such charging stations in European countries, the brand’s subsidiary Denza is anticipated to get momentum for the fast-charging-compatible EVs that they have introduced in the European market.

Reportedly, BYD’s Denza opened a showroom in Germany’s Hamburg in June 2026, and they are all set to increase it to 40 by the year’s end. They also have planned to introduce a different model in the European market by late 2027 that will be equipped with the BYD next-generation blade battery that supports megawatt-level ultra-fast charging.
As of late May 2026, BYD has built more than 6,100 ultra-fast flash charging stations across China in 300 cities to ensure that EV charging becomes as quick as refuelling the tank of an internal combustion engine car. A report from the Chinese media outlet even claims that recently the company has also set up such charging stations at the high-altitude region near Mount Everest in Tibet.
BYD entered the race of ultra-fast charging in China back in March 2025 when they introduced the DC charger with an output of 1,000 kW with two models that are the Han L and Tang L models. It got an upgrade in early 2026 with the introduction of a 1,500 kW liquid-cooled ‘Flash Charging’ system with a Blade 2.0 battery with the claim of adding 400 km of CLTC range with just 5 minutes of charging.
Following the launch of the 1,500 kW ultra-fast charger, they launched many EVs and PHEVs with next-generation blade batteries and even upgraded the old model with the Blade 2.0 battery pack with competitive pricing. Amazingly, BYD and its sub-brand sales for flash-charging compatible electric cars have increased significantly in the last five months in China.

As of now, many electric vehicle models are available for sale in the European market. The company’s webpage for Europe shows the BYD Atto 3 Evo, BYD Dolphin Surf, BYD Atto 2, BYD Sealion 7, BYD Tang, BYD Seal U, and BYD Dolphin. Models that are available under the banner of Denza are Z9 GT and D9; and two models are also sold under the Yangwang brand; these two are U9 and U7.
The models under the Denza, i.e., Z9 GT and D9, were showcased at the Paris Opera on April 8, 2026, and are equipped with Blade 2.0 battery and support ultra-fast charging. Between them, the pre-sale for the former begins in France, Germany, Italy, and Spain with the price of 115,000 euros, which translates to ₹1.26 crore, whose delivery in these countries is already taking place.
