Previously we reported that Build Your Dreams’s premium sub-brand Denza will start the pre-sale for the all-electric five-seater sedan Denza Z9S on August 3, 2026. Now, they have done so, announcing the price and specification via an event. Notably, the carmaker has started taking pre-orders for the pure-electric sedan with the announcement. Anyone who is interested may do so by visiting the Denza dealership or showroom, or through the Denza mobile app or official Denza website.
In total, they have introduced three variants, which are Flash Charging Premium, Flash Charging Flagship, and Flash Charging Performance (e3 AWD). The pre-sale amount for the first one is 319,800 yuan (₹38.4 lakh), second is 349,800 yuan (₹42.0 lakh), and third is 389,800 yuan (₹46.8 lakh). The market launch of this four-door electrified sedan is anticipated to happen in September 2026 with a slightly lower cost than the existing one, and delivery may begin somewhere in October 2026.
The carmaker has positioned the model as a tech luxury smart sedan by adding another long-range pure-electric car in the line-up. It is all set to take on the Xiaomi SU7, a full-size four-door fastback electric vehicle, which is on sale in China from March 28, 2024; currently it costs between 219,900 yuan (₹31.04 lakh) and 529,900 yuan (₹74.81 lakh). General Manager of Denza, Li Hui, said in the event that the Z9S from Denza has broken the record of longest mass-produced EV with a range of 1,100 km on the CLTC condition.
In the Z9 series from Denza, the Z9S is the third model after the 4-door luxury sedan Z9 and 5-door shooting brake Z9GT. Following the market launch, it won’t only give tough competition for the SU7 from Xiaomi Auto but also for other electrified sedans in the segment too, which are the Xpeng P7, the NIO ET5, the Zeekr 001, the Tesla Model S, the Audi e-tron GT, and the Porsche Taycan. The features which make it odd among the rivals are the second-generation Blade lithium-ion battery pack and God’s Eye 5.0 intelligent driving system.
Notably, all three variants are equipped with the 102.3 kWh battery pack, but the range for the first, second, and third variants is 780 km, 920 km, and 1,100 km, respectively. The first two variants come with a rear-wheel-drive drivetrain, getting an electric motor on the rear axle, and the last one gets three electric motors, one mounted on the front axle and two on the rear axle. Variants that come with a single motor deliver the power of 370 kW (496 hp), but the triple-motor setup does 890 kW (1,194 hp).
As of now, there’s no update on its launch in the international market. We are expecting it to be introduced in Europe, as they have already launched the Z9GT there in April 2026 with the starting prices of €101,000 and €115,000 for the plug-in hybrid electric and battery electric vehicle versions, respectively. If they launch the Z9S in the European market, we are expecting it to cost between €100,000 and €125,000, depending on the variant.
Let’s have a closer look at the Z9S timeline. On July 10, 2026, this sedan appeared in China’s MIIT filling catalogue release. A week after that, on July 17, 2026, they released the official exterior image revealing the designs. And then on July 21, 2026, we got to see its interior. On July 28, 2026, the carmaker announced that they will start the pre-sale on August 3, 2026, and on August 3, 2026, they finally started taking pre-orders from the driver interested in buying it.
