The GAC Group, a Chinese automobile manufacturer, has officially confirmed that they will launch the GAC Hyptec S600, a crossover sport utility vehicle, on June 12, 2026. The announcement came after days of starting the pre-sale on May 17, 2026, with the price ranging from 188,900 to 208,900 CNY, which translates to 26.68 to 29.51 lakh INR.
The launch will happen in four variants; among them, two, the 660 Max and 600 Max+, will be introduced with pure electric, and two, the 230 Max and 215 AWD Ultra+, will be extended-range electric. We expect that the launch price will be significantly lower than the one with which the pre-order is taking place. Let’s have a closer look at their known specs and features.
EV and EREV versions with quick 0-100 km/h acceleration

Starting with the motor setup and performance. Reportedly, both variants of EV are set to get a permanent magnet synchronous motor on the rear axle that will be mated with a single-speed automatic transmission featuring a rear-wheel drive drivetrain. The PMSM generates the power of 335 hp and torque of 430 Nm, which help it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.3 seconds, and the maximum speed is 183 km/h.
On the other hand, the 230 Max variant of EREV gets a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol internal combustion engine under the hood and PMSM on the rear axle that is also bolted with a single-speed automatic transmission; its drivetrain is also RWD. The ICE’s power output is 158 hp, but combined they produce 308 hp and a peak torque of 396 Nm. It can sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in 6.4 seconds and reaches a top speed of 190 kmph.
And the 215 AWD Ultra+ of EREV gets the same 1.5L turbo petrol ICE with the same output under the hood, an induction motor on the front axle, and a PMSM on the rear axle with the same one-speed automatic gearbox, but the drivetrain is all-wheel drive but of a dual-motor setup. The combined power output and peak torque are 496 hp and 634 Nm, respectively; its 0 to 100 km/h acceleration timing is 4.3 seconds. If the battery is depleted, it takes 5.3 seconds, but top speed is 190 km/h, the same as the 230 Max variant.
Large battery pack and fast charging option

Moving on to battery pack and range. The EV variants get an 83.3 kWh LFP battery pack, whose CLTC range is 660 kilometres after each full charge; on the other hand, the EREV variants are equipped with the 36.0 kWh The LFP battery pack gives a range of 230 kilometres for the 230 Max and 215 kilometres for the 215 AWD Ultra+; the combined range is 1,260 km and 1,280 km, respectively.
Not officially confirmed, we expect that the electric vehicles are based on 800-volt electrical architecture and extended-range electric vehicles on 400-volt. The report says all support DC chargers up to 15 minutes from 30 to 80 per cent charging; however, the automaker is yet to reveal maximum charging output.
Intelligent driving assistant and big cargo space
Lastly, shifting to the interior and features. The cabin’s dashboard gets a 17.3-inch 3K display infotainment system that runs on ADiGO intelligent cockpit being powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295P chip featuring 11 AI agents with cloud-edge integration and AI-powered intelligent voice control. Also features a 27-inch W-HUD (windscreen head-up display) that projects all driving data on the windscreen.
Features a LiDAR-based intelligent driving system, ADiGO GSD 3.0, supporting both highway and urban navigation autopilots. The front driver’s seat features zero-gravity mode with 18-point massage functions, with the 22-speaker Premium Sound System cabin feeling like a mini theatre. Other notable features are a 5.316 m² panoramic sunroof, dual-chamber air suspension with adaptive damping, and 1,292 litres of boot space.
