Skoda Auto, the Czech Republic automobile manufacturer, is all set to unveil the Skoda Peaq, a seven-seater all-electric sport utility vehicle, on June 23, 2026. Whether the manufacturer will introduce it to the Indian market or not, it is still uncertain. Talking to the media, Ashish Gupta, director of the brand’s Indian subsidiary, said that it’s on my radar. Furthermore, he said that our focus is to launch a premium version of the same, not the standard at a high price.
As of now, the carmaker is selling three pure-electric models internationally; they are the Skoda Epiq, the Skoda Elroq and the Skoda Enyaq. The upcoming Skoda Peaq will add the fourth EV in the lineup. Launching any of the first ones are unfit for Indian roads, but they can introduce the last one as a flagship model. Notably, as of now, they aren’t selling any e-cars in India; however, they are working on a local EV strategy so their models can fit positioning and pricing.
Globally, the manufacturer is planning to launch the seven-seater all-electric SUV in three different variants that are 60, 90 and 90x. As they are planning to introduce it as a premium flagship option, we expect that they may introduce the top-end variant, that is, 90x. However, it is yet to be seen whether they execute their plan or not. Let’s have a closer look at this variant of the Skoda Karoq.

Built on the Volkswagen Group MEB platform and 800-volt electrical architecture. Equipped with a 91 kWh NCM (Nickel-Cobalt-Manganese) lithium-ion battery pack beneath the floor. Its range under the Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicles Test Procedure condition is 600 kilometres. Note this electric car supports DC with a maximum output of 200 kW, which charges it from 10 to 80 per cent in just 28 minutes.
Get two electric motors: the primary, a permanent magnet synchronous motor, on the rear axle mated with a single-speed automatic gearbox; and the secondary, an asynchronous motor, on the front axle, featuring all-wheel drive driver. Combinedly, these electric motors generate the maximum power of 295 hp and peak torque of 540 Nm. Its 0 to 100 km/h acceleration timing is 6.7 seconds, and its top speed is 180 km/h.
The manufacturer has already revealed the length and wheelbase; it is 4,874 mm longer, and the distance between the axles is 2,965 mm. Compared to its sibling, it is 116 mm and 174 mm longer in terms of length and wheelbase, respectively. Globally, they will introduce it with both five-person and seven-individual seating capacities in 2-3 and 2-3-2, respectively. Both feature a frunk (front trunk storage), which helps in carrying the small items.
The 5-seater features a boot space of 935 litres; the trunk can be used for carrying up to 5 pieces of big luggage, and the 7-seater only has a cargo capacity of 299 litres, which is expandable up to 890 litres by folding the rear seats. In the Indian market, they may introduce it as a 5-seater, as they are considering launching a premium flagship SUV with a spacious cabin, large boot space and top performance.

Outside, it gets T-shaped LED daylight running lights, bumper-integrated matrix LED headlamps, frameless windows, large alloy wheels, wheel-arch cladding, flush-type door handles, double-tone outside rear-view mirrors, a T-shaped LED tailgate, an integrated spoiler, and Skoda lettering on the tailgate.
Inside, it gets a 13.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless connectivity support, an AI-based voice assistant, and over-the-air software updates. Under the screening wheel, there’s a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster which shows all the driving data such as range, battery charging, etc.
