The Zeekr, a high-end electric vehicle brand of Geely, is all set to launch the 8X in the Chinese market on April 17, 2026. It will reveal the actual price, and delivery for the selected variant will begin shortly after that. Its pre-sale opened on March 16, 2026, and within 38 minutes it had passed the 10,000 order.
The pre-sale of the plug-in hybrid vehicle is taking place for four variants, which are Max, Ultra, Ultra+ and Yaoying Edition in China’s domestic market with prices of 376,800, 396,800, 446,800 and 516,800, respectively, in Chinese yuan. In the Chinese market, it will compete with Li Auto L8, Aito M8, and Nio ES8.
Design
Up front, the 8X gets a large waterfall grille from palace architecture that gives it strong luxury and a powerful presence. It features an active grille shutter, which automatically opens and closes for cooling and aerodynamics. The diamond matrix LED headlights are added, which are made of 25,000 micro facets and create a jewel-like lighting effect.
On the side, a flush door design is available, which provides better aerodynamics. It runs on 20-22 large alloy wheels, and it has red brake callipers for top trims. The back gets a full-width LED taillight, which contains more than 55,000 diamond facets that use ultra-red lighting technology. The tailgate has a clean design with a minimalistic but futuristic look.
Features
The 8X gets a G-ASD Smart Driving System and 5 LiDARs with 43 sensors. It includes cameras, radars, and ultrasonic sensors, which help to see everything around it. Features dual NVIDIA Thor-U chips, which process massive data instantly for real-time decisions, and full-scenario NOA (Navigation on Autopilot) that works in city roads, highways and parking areas.
The interior features a three-screen setup, which includes a 15.6-inch OLED touchscreen, a 10.25-inch digital cluster and a 9.5-inch AR-HUD. The infotainment is based on Zeekr AI OS 7 and the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chip. For luxury and comfort, it gets MPV-style reclining seats with ventilation, heating and massage functions. It gets a Naim Premium Sound System, which includes 29 speakers.
The cabin also gets the “Xiao Ji” voice assistant, which supports up to 12 languages. It is available with a seating capacity of five people and six people and also features a boot space of 1,133 litres that is capable of easily carrying ten big pieces of luggage. The cargo space can be extended up to 2,200 litres by folding down the rear seats, depending on the need.
Specification
The 8X from Zeekr is based on the Haohan-S Super Hybrid Architecture platform. It comes with a 2.0L turbocharged (4-cylinder), whose power output is 275 hp. It gets both two-motor and three-wheeler setups featuring an all-wheel drive configuration, and the transition is single-speed automatic for all trims.
Its range-extender generator delivers the power of 194 hp, and with the three-motor setup it generates the maximum power of 1381 hp and 1400 Nm torque. The acceleration timing for the one equipped with two motors is 3.7 seconds, but the same for the three-motor variant is only 2.96 seconds.
As a PHEV, it gets a 70 kWh battery that gives the CLTC range of 410 km. Its electrical architecture is based on 900 volts, which takes only 9 minutes to charge from 20% to 80% in normal temperature; in case of extreme cold, such as a -30-degree-Celsius temperature, the charging time increases by 3 minutes.
The combined range is 1416 km; the fuel tank capacity is yet to be disclosed. The fuel efficiency is 6.43 litres for each 100 km. As the only petrol and hybrid is 1,006 km, it is likely that it will feature a fuel tank of 65 litres. The top speed for a three-motor setup trim is 230 km.
The length of 5108 mm gives more interior space and makes the cabin more spacious; the width of 2026 mm features ample shoulder room for all occupants; the height of 1780 mm gives better headroom; and the wheelbase of 3069 mm provides decent legroom and enhances stability during the drive.
