Chery, the Chinese automaker, has collaborated with the JSW Group to launch new energy vehicles that include EVs, EREVs, and PHEVs. As of now, they have patented four electric vehicles for the Indian market, which are the Lepas L6 EV, the Jaecoo J5 EV, the iCar V23 EV and the QQ3 EV. Let’s have a closer look at each of Chery’s upcoming electric cars under the JSW banner.
JSW-Chery Lepas L6 EV

The Lepas L6 EV from JSW-Chery is an upcoming all-electric SUV in December 2027 with the ex-showroom price range from 18 to 30 lakh rupees. Following the launch, it will compete with the Hyundai Creta EV, the Tata Curvv EV, and the MG ZS EV. It will launch in India as a front-wheel-drive e-car featuring an electric motor on the front axle, whose power output is 240 bhp and peak torque is 275 Nm.
It is equipped with a 67.08 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery pack, whose NEDC range is 510 km; it supports a DC charger up to 120 kW, which takes 20 minutes for 20 to 80 per cent charging. Comes with the seating capacity of five people in a layout of 2-3, which features a boot space of 397 litres. Its length is 4,570 mm, width is 1,852 mm and height is 1,683 mm. The wheelbase is 2700 mm and 220 mm long.
JSW-Chery Jaecoo J5 EV

The JSW-Chery Jaecoo J5 EV is expected to be introduced in the Indian market by late 2026. It is anticipated to be available for sale with the price ranging from 18 to 20 lakh rupees. All set to be offered with a 58.9 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, which runs up to 461 km on the NEDC cycle after one full charge. Support a DC charger up to 130 kW, which takes 34 minutes for 10 to 80 per cent charging.
It comes as a front-wheel drive configuration, meaning a permanent magnet synchronous motor is mounted on the front axle. The PMSM is mated with a single-speed automatic transmission whose power output is 201 bhp and peak torque is 310 Nm. The acceleration timing for 0 to 100 km/h is 7.3 seconds, and top speed goes up to 150 km/h.
JSW-Chery iCar V23 EV

The JSW-Chery iCar V23 EV will make its debut in the Indian market in early 2027. There’s no word from the carmaker about the price; it is highly expected that it will be available for sale with the starting ex-showroom price of 20 lakh rupees. May come as both RWD and AWD, which are equipped with the 59.93 kWh LFP and 81.76 kWh NMC battery packs, respectively.
The maximum power output is 136 hp and a peak of 180 Nm for RWD, and the same for AWD is 211 hp and 292 Nm. Notably, the CLTC range for standard battery packs is 401 km and 501 km for larger ones. To accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h is 11 seconds for the rear-wheel drive variant but 7.5 for all-wheel drive. Notably, the top speed for both is 140 km/h.
JSW-Chery QQ3 EV

The JSW-Chery QQ3 EV may be available for sale with the ex-showroom price of 10 to 14 lakh rupees. Likely to be available for sale with two LFP battery packs that are 29.5 kWh and 41.2 kWh, which gives the CLTC range of 310 km and 420 km, respectively. With the standard battery pack, it outputs 77 bhp of power and 90 Nm of torque, but with the larger one, it generates power of 121 bhp and torque of 115 Nm.
To sprint from 0 to 50 kmph, it takes 3.8 seconds with both battery packs. The interior is equipped with a 15.6-inch 2.5K high-resolution touchscreen at the centre of the dashboard as an infotainment system, and an 8.8-inch driver display is placed before the driver’s seat. Also features a 50-watt wireless phone charging pad and 256-colour ambient lighting.
