Mahindra EV Cars in India: XUV 3XO EV, XUV400 EV, BE 6, XEV 9e and XEV 9S

Mahindra & Mahindra is one of the leading automobile manufacturers in India; so far they have introduced five all-electric models in the Indian market that include the XUV 3XO EV, XUV400 EV, BE 6, XEV 9e and XEV 9S. Let’s have a closer look at these EVs.

Mahindra XUV 3XO EV

The Mahindra XUV 3XO EV comes in two variants, whose ex-showroom prices are ₹13.89 Lakh and ₹14.96 Lakh for the AX5 and AX7L, respectively. It is offered with a 39.4 kWh LFP battery pack with a single-motor front-wheel-drive configuration that uses the single-speed automatic transmission. 

The power output is 147.51 bhp and peak torque 310 Nm, which helps it accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.3 seconds. Its top speed is 150 kmph. With the full battery, it gives the ARAI-certified range of 456 kilometres. Its competitors are the Citroën eC3, the MG Windsor EV and the Tata Nexon EV.

Mahindra XUV400 EV

The Mahindra XUV400 EV is available for sale in the Indian market in five variants; refer to the table below to check their names and ex-showroom prices.

Offered with a two battery pack option (LFP), the first three variants come with 34.5 kWh, giving a range of 365 kilometres, and the last two with 39.4 kWh, featuring a range of 456 kilometres on the ARAI scale. 

It comes with a single-motor front-wheel drive drivetrain and a single-speed automatic transmission. The power output is 147.5 bhp, peak torque is 310 Nm, 0-100 km/h acceleration timing is 8.3 seconds, and top speed is 150 km/h.

Mahindra BE 6

The Mahindra BE 6 is available for sale in the Indian market in six variants; the first two and fourth one come with an LFP battery pack of 59 kWh, giving an ARAI-certified range of 557 km, the last two with 79 kWh that delivers a range of up to 683 km on a full charge, and the third one with both 59 kWh and 79 kWh. Offered with a single-motor rear-wheel drive drivetrain that uses single-speed automatic transmission. With the 59 kWh and 79 kWh LFP battery packs, the power output is 228 bhp and 282 bhp, respectively; the peak torque for both is 380 Nm. The acceleration timing for 0 to 100 km/h is 6.7 to 7 seconds, and top speed goes up to 202 km/h.

Mahindra XEV 9e 

The Mahindra XEV 9e is available in five variants; the first, third and fifth come with an LFP battery of 59 kWh, the last one with 79 kWh and the second with both 59 kWh and 79 kWh. Refer to the table below to check the ex-showroom price range.

It is also available with a single-motor RWD drivetrain that uses a single-speed automatic transmission. The power output is 228 bhp to 282 bhp, and peak torque is 380 Nm. Its ARAI-certified range is 542 km to 679 km, top speed goes up to 202 km/h, and acceleration timing is 6.8 seconds for the variant with a larger battery pack.

Mahindra XEV 9S

The Mahindra XEV 9S is available in three variants that include Pack One, Pack Two and Pack Three, whose ex-showroom ranges are ₹19.95 Lakh to ₹21.95 Lakh, ₹24.45 Lakh to ₹25.45 Lakh, and ₹27.35 to ₹29.45 Lakh, respectively. The first one is available with two LFP battery packs, 59 kWh and 79 kWh; the second with 70 kWh and 79 kWh; and the third with only 79 kWh.

All variants are offered with a single-motor RWD drivetrain; the power is 228 bhp, 242 bhp and 282 bhp for the standard, mid and large battery packs, respectively, but the peak torque is 380 Nm. Their range is 521 km, 600 km, and 671 km; acceleration timing for 0-100 km/h is 7 to 7.6 seconds; and top speed is up to 202 km.
