The Indian automobile market will see the launch of five affordable electric SUVs between the second half of 2026 and the first half of 2027. They are the Tata Sierra EV, the Kia Syros EV, the Hyundai HE1i, the Honda 0 Alpha, and the Tata Safari EV. Let’s have a closer look at each of the above-mentioned EVs.
Tata Sierra EV

Tata Motors is all set to launch the Tata Sierra EV on June 30, 2026. They haven’t confirmed its pricing; the ex-showroom price is anticipated to be between ₹18 lakh and ₹25 lakh. This electric car is built on Acti.ev+ architecture, which may be offered with two different battery packs that are 65 kWh and 75 kWh.
Reportedly, it will come with single-motor rear-wheel drive and double-motor all-wheel drive configurations. Inside, it may feature a triple-screen setup with an infotainment system, digital instrument cluster and entertainment screen. Both front seats are likely to be powered and ventilated.
Kia Syros EV

Kia Motors will introduce the Kia Syros in the Indian market most probably in August 2026, whose ex-showroom price is expected to start from ₹14 lakh and go up to ₹18 lakh. The carmaker has built this electric car on the K1 platform, and it is highly anticipated to be offered with 42 kWh and 49 kWh.
It gets a permanent magnet synchronous motor on the front axle that is mated with single-speed automatic transmission, as the e-motor is mounted on the front wheel and features a FWD drivetrain. The cabin is expected to have two 12.3-inch connected screens, one at the centre of the dashboard and the other under the steering wheel.
Hyundai HE1i

The Hyundai HE1i, internally codenamed ‘electric SUV’, the carmaker is yet to reveal the production name. This EV has already been spotted testing multiple times on public roads. They are likely to launch it in the Indian market in the first half of 2026, whose ex-showroom price may start from ₹12 lakh for the base and go up to ₹16 lakh for the top-end variant.
It is built on the E-GMP (K) platform, and the carmaker is also planning to introduce it to India with two LPF batteries, which are still unknown. Reportedly, this electric car will get an electric motor on the front axle featuring front-wheel drive. Inside, it may feature a 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 9.9-inch digital instrument cluster.
Honda 0 Alpha

Honda Motor is all set to launch the Honda 0 Alpha in the first quarter of 2026, whose ex-showroom price is anticipated to be between ₹17 lakh and ₹22 lakh. The carmaker hasn’t revealed any details regarding the powertrain and performance, but it is certain that this e-car is coming with two different LPF battery packs but only in FWD configuration.
Inside, it may get a wireless phone charging pad on the centre console for phone charging conventionally, ventilated front seats, a premium sound system, six airbags for the safety of occupants during the collision, a panoramic sunroof, a large touchscreen infotainment system with wireless multi-device connectivity, OTA software updates, and connected features.
Tata Safari EV

Tata Motors will launch the Tata Safari EV most probably in November 2026, during the festive season, whose ex-showroom price is expected to be between ₹22.5 lakh and ₹32 lakh. The carmaker may introduce this electric car to the Indian market with both single-motor rear-wheel drive and double-motor all-wheel drive drivetrains; both will use single-speed automatic transmission.
The cabin will feature a seating capacity of seven people in a 2-3-2 layout, a panoramic sunroof which makes the cabin feel spacious, ventilated seats for better comfort for the driver and co-passenger during hot days, a large touchscreen infotainment system, a multi-speaker sound system, and wireless connectivity via Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and Bluetooth.
