97% in 9 Minutes: Denza N8L Flash Charging PHEV Launches June 23

Denza, BYD’s luxury automotive brand, has officially confirmed that they will launch the fast-charging edition for the Denza N8L, a plug-in hybrid electric sport utility vehicle, on June 23, 2026, for the Chinese market, after starting the pre-sale on April 10, 2026, with the price ranging from 350,000 to 400,000 yuan, which translates to 4,903,353 to 5,603,832 rupees. After the launch, it will take on the Li Auto L9, the Aito M9, and the Lynk & Co 900.

The price we have mentioned above is one that the carmaker announced with the start of pre-order; we expect that the actual price will range between 320,000 and 380,000 yuan, which translates to 4,499,200 to 5,342,800 rupees. The delivery of the N8L Flash Charging Edition is all set to start shortly after the launch; reportedly, each buyer can avail themselves of the benefit of 18 months of free charging across the country at BYD’s flash-charging stations.

This upcoming SUV is equipped with a 75.26 kWh lithium-ion BYD’s next-generation blade battery pack, which supports kilowatt-level ultra-fast DC charging. At the nearest flash charging station, you can get your electric vehicle charged within 5 minutes for 10-70%. To reach the charge of 10-97%, it takes only 9 minutes. Interestingly, even in the extreme cold conditions, it takes only 12 minutes to charge the vehicle from 20-80%.

When the battery is in full charge, it gives a range of 420 km under China Light-Duty Vehicle Test Cycle conditions; the real-world range is anticipated to be around 320-350 km depending on road and driving conditions. As a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle, it gets a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine under the hood and three electric motors; one is mounted with the engine on the front axle, and two are on the rear axle on the wheel side.

The engine delivers the power of 152 kW (204 hp), and the combined power output of three motors is 560 kW (751 hp). Reportedly, it takes only 3 seconds to sprint from 0 to 100 kmph. The carmaker is yet to make public the maximum speed; we are anticipating that it will reach the top speed of 220 km/h. Interestingly, this plug-in hybrid electric car is equipped with both God’s Eye 5.0 and DiSus-A, which makes it highly competitive among its rivals.

The God’s Eye 5.0 intelligent driving assistant system, which works with roof-mounted LiDAR, cameras, radars, ultrasonic sensors, and AI computing, features NOA for both city driving and highway cruising; and DiSus-A, an advanced air system, uses air springs, adaptive dampers, cameras, sensors, and a central controller to adjust the suspension electrically in real time to ensure comfortable driving on all terrain, and it also features adjustable ride height.

The vehicle is 5,200 mm longer, 1,999 mm wider, and 1,820 mm taller. Available with a seating capacity of six people in a two-two-two layout, meaning two individual seats are available in the first row, two captain’s seats in the second, and two in the third row in a bench-like structure. Thanks to a wheelbase of 3,075 mm, each occupant gets ample legroom, so even the long journey stays convenient.

The co-passenger seat features zero-gravity mode, and the second-row seats come with heating, ventilation, and massage functions, and the third row only gets heated seats. The dashboard of the cabin is equipped with two 13.2-inch touchscreen infotainment systems, one at the center and the other before the co-passenger seat. Under the two-spoke steering wheel, there is a 17.3-inch digital instrument cluster.

The cabin also features a 50-inch augmented reality head-up display that projects the driving data on the windshield; a 9-inch streaming media rearview mirror that shows behind-the-car scenes; and a 17.3-inch ceiling-mounted rear passenger entertainment screen that supports both video streaming and gameplay.
