On August 26, 2026, Arcfox, a premium electric vehicle brand owned by BAIC Group, finally launched the Arcfox Alpha T7, a mid-to-large fastback sport utility vehicle, in a total of 9 variants, including 4 EVs and 5 EREVs. The presale is taking place with the starting price of 137,800 yuan, which translates to 20,500 USD.
In the Alpha family, two models are already on sale: they are Alpha T5 and Alpha T. The newly introduced one is positioned above the two existing ones. Its EV and EREV versions are available with rear-wheel-drive drivetrains as a five-seater with a seating layout of 2-3. The boot space behind the second row is 645 liters, which is expandable up to 1845 liters by folding the second row.
Inside, there’s a 43.3-inch panoramic HUD available on the base on the windscreen that acts as a digital instrument cluster and also shows other details. The dashboard’s center has a 17.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless smartphone connectivity and connected car technology with the over-the-air software updates.
Other highlights inside the cabin are a dual-toned interior theme, two cup holders, two wireless phone charging pads, and a hidden storage compartment on the center console. A horizontal-shaped AC vent on the sides in the row seats and two on the end of the console for the second row with a USB charging port; a 1.28 m² panoramic glass roof; and an 8.2-liter built-in refrigerator or heater.
The length, width, and height are 5,020 mm, 1,996 mm, and 1,685 mm, respectively, giving it the proportions of a D-segment SUV with a 3,040 mm long wheelbase. Exterior features include a full-width daylight running light, roof-mounted LiDAR, front-door-mounted ORVMs integrating side indicators, black wheel arch cladding, a roof-integrated spoiler, and a full-width LED taillight.
Two wheel size options are available, including 19-inch and 21-inch; there’s also a frunk (front storage trunk) of 200 liters that can be used to carry the home charging kit. The roof-mounted LiDAR that is visible from the front end is a part of Huawei Qiankun ADS 5 Pro, an advanced driving assistant system suite that offers Highway and Urban Navigation Cruise Assist.
The EV and EREV are built on 800-volt and 400-volt electrical architecture, respectively; they both get a permanent magnet synchronous motor on the rear axle with single-speed automatic transmission, but the models vary. The EV’s e-motor delivers 200 kW, but the EREV’s does 227 kW. They are both equipped with the LPF battery powering the electric motor. They both have a top speed of 180 km.
The 43.9 kWh battery pack is available for EREV, giving an EV range of 320 km; options of 75.4 kWh and 84.8 kWh are available for EV, which gives a range of 650 km and 715 km, respectively, under CLTC conditions. The EREV also has a 1.5-liter four-cylinder turbo-petrol ICE that adds a range of 995 km when the fuel tank is full; the combined range for it is 1,315 km.
Both the electric vehicle and extended-range electric vehicle support DC chargers; they take 15 minutes to charge 30 to 80 percent. The EV is capable of adding a CLTC range of 270 km with just 10 minutes of charging. The maximum charging output for both versions is still pending; they will reveal these details with the market launch.
The presale for the Arcfox Alpha T7 in China is open; anyone who is looking for a large SUV below 200,000 yuan (29,750 USD) with decent range and fast charging should consider it, because it is not only available with affordable pricing but also gives decent EV range for highway driving and has a spacious cabin with high-tech and smart features.
