The Chinese automaker Chery is all set to launch three cars in the United Kingdom market under its sub-brand Lepas. They will introduce three four-wheelers in the next twelve months. They are NEVs (New Energy Vehicles) including plug-in hybrid car and electric car.
The list includes Lepas L8, Lepas L6 and Lepas L4. Reportedly, the launch of the first one will take place in the third quarter of 2026, later in the four quarter, and last in the early 2027. Let’s have a closer look at each of these four-wheelers from the Chery.
Lepas L8
The L8 is a flagship large SUV based on Chery’s premium Exeed EX9 model. which may be available for sale in the UK with the price between £30,000 and £35,000. It is a five-seater car with a layout of 2-3, and it has a boot space of 507 liters. Dimensionally, it is 4,688 mm in length, 1,871 mm in width, 1,694 mm in height and 2,800 mm in wheelbase.
Built-on Chery’s NEV modular platform and all set to be introduced in the PHEV powertrain. Under the hood, it gets a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine and an electric motor. The power output and peak torque for ICE is 141 hp and 210 Nm, and the same for PMSM is 201 hp and 310 Nm.
Its drivetrain is front-wheel drive and transmission is Dedicated Hybrid Transmission. Combined, they generate the power of 279 hp and 365 Nm, which helps the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km in 5.8 seconds, and reach the maximum speed of 180 – 185 km/h.
Features a 18.4 kWh LFP battery pack, whose electric-only CLTC-range is 110 km, but the combined is 1300 km. The fuel efficiency which the battery is fully charge is only 1.4 liters for 100 km of drive, but once the battery is drained it 5.2 liters for each 100 km of distance.
Lepas L6

The L6 is a mid-size SUV whose price in the UK market is expected to be between £28,000 and £34,000. It is also a five seater car with the traditional layout of 2-3. Its dimensions in terms of length, width and height is 4,661 mm, 1,860 mm and 1,661 mm, respectively. It is set to be introduced in two powertrains that are EV and PHEV.
The EV get a single motor on front axle, which make its a FWD drivetrain car with the transmission of single-speed automatic, as standard, whose power output is 238 hp and peak torque is 275 Nm that make it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h is 7.9 second. It features a 67.08 kWh battery pack, whose NEDC-range is 510 km. With DC charger upto 120 kWh, it takes 20 minutes for 30-80% charging.
On the other hand, the PHEV comes with 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine under hood with a Dedicated Hybrid Transmission, and a electric motor on front wheels featuring FWD drivetrain. The combined power output and peak torque is 271 hp and 365 Nm, respectively. It gets a 18.4 kWh battery, whose only-electric range is 100 km, and total is 1136 km, on WLTP cycle.
Lepas L4

The L4 is compact crossover which is all set to be introduced to UK market with EV powertrain. It price in the United Kingdom is anticipated to range from £25,000 to £30,000. It also comes with the seating capacity of 5 people in layout of 2-3, and features a boot space of 458 liters that can be extended to 1,284 litres by folding down the rear seats.
It dimensions in terms of length, width, and height is 4,406 mm, 1,820 mm, and 1,635 mm, respectively, whose wheelbase is 2,700 and ground clearance is 160 mm. The car is equipped with one a single motor with the front axle, which means it has FWD drivetrain and single-speed automatic transmission.
The motor generates the power of 208 hp and torque of 288 Nm. Set to gets a 67.1 kWh battery, whose WLTP-range is 450 km. To accelerate from 0 to 100 km, it take time of 7.9 seconds. It is based on the electric architecture of 800-volt, whose supports 80 kW charger that takes time of 30 minutes for 10-80% charging.
