On May 24, 2026, the Chinese automobile manufacturer BYD’s Fangchengbao launched the Fangchengbao Bao 5 Flash Charge Edition with a ‘Chisha Red’ interior color option for the domestic market. It is available for sale with the limited-time offer price of 299,800 CNY, equivalent to 44,200 USD. Notably, once the offer ends, it will cost 305,800 CNY, which translates to 45,100 USD.
Available with five exterior color options that are Vatnajökull Glacier Blue, Dolomites Mountain Green, Peak Grey, Night Shadow Black, and Tarim Poplar Gold. Dimensionally, it is 4,880 mm longer, 1,970 mm wider, and 1,920 mm taller. Its wheelbase is 2,800 mm, compared to its two main competitors: GWM Tank 700 Hi4-T and Huawei-Backed Aito M9, it is 200 mm and 310 mm shorter, respectively.
Upfront, it features two full-width LED daylight running lights, a large air intake grille for cooling of the engine, squared-off LED matrix headlights, and roof-mounted LiDAR. On the sides, it gets rugged wheel arches and large mesh alloy wheels, mechanical door handles, blackout roof-mounted rails and windows surrounding, and body-colored powered ORVMs with integrated indicators.
