BAIC (Beijing Automotive Industry Corporation)’s Arcfox started the pre-sale for the all-electric mid-size sedan Arcfox S3 on April 24, 2026, following its showcasing at the 2026 Beijing Auto Show. The pre-sale is happening with the price ranging from 64,800 to 125,800 CNY, equivalent to 9,500 to 18,500 USD.
Now the Chinese automaker has officially confirmed that they will launch the car in the domestic market on May 22, 2026. Various reports are saying that the sale price is set to be slightly lower than the pre-order cost. In the company’s portfolio, it sits below its siblings, Arcfox αS5 and Arcfox αS6.
Details about this car started to emerge with its reveal in China’s MIIT (Ministry of Industry and Information Technology) filing release in March 2026, and many pending specifications and features were revealed during its showcase on April 24, 2026, and pre-sale launch.
As of now, almost all details about the car have emerged. Reports have confirmed that the Arcfox will introduce the new fully electric four-door sedan in two versions; the first one is battery-swapping, and the other is battery-charging.
Reportedly, its top-end variant gets roof-mounted LiDAR that is part of Yuanjing intelligent driving assistance featuring both highway and urban NOA, which makes driving almost autonomous.
Notably, the battery-swapping version is set to come with an LFP battery pack that is 54 kWh and features a range of 525 km on CLTC conditions. The interesting thing about their version is that the swapping of the battery is possible in just 99 seconds.
On the other hand, the battery-charging version offers three LFP battery pack options, including 44.2 kWh, 55.6 kWh, and 65.8 kWh. The CLTC range for the standard battery pack is 460 km; the same for the mid and larger ones is 560 km and 660 km, respectively.
It is set to be introduced with a single drive type that is front-wheel drive. Both battery-swapping and non-battery-swapping versions get a single PMS motor on the rear axle, with power output is 150 kW and 159 kW, respectively.
The car’s length, width, and height are 4,916 mm, 1,900 mm, and 1,480 mm, respectively, and its wheelbase is 2,876 mm. Its exterior highlights are that it has a split-headlamp setup for modern styling, semi-hidden door handles to reduce drag and improve efficiency, and full-width LED taillights for a wider body stance.
As a sedan, it features a seating capacity of 5 people in a 2-3 configuration; it does have a boot space of 465 liters behind the third row that helps in carrying luggage and cargo. The front seats get a removable headrest and flat-folding feature that connects with the rear seat and creates a bed mode.
The interior is equipped with a 15.6-inch Floating Infotainment Screen that is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chipset. behind the steering wheel, it features a fully digital instrument cluster. No reports are confirmed about featuring an augmented reality head-up display.
Reports even say that its rear seat supports reclining up to 118 degrees for a backrest in long tours, features multi-color ambient light that syncs with music, a wireless phone charging pad, and top trim also has premium comfort features: heating, ventilation, and massage functions.
Arcfox has released the sales figure for April 2026; they have sold a total of 16,532 vehicles, which represents 101.7 percent year-to-year growth. The launch of the new all-electric sedan Arcfox S3 is expected to increase the sale figures significantly throughout the year 2026.
SAIC’s IM Motor launched the IM Motor LS8 with an extended-range electric powertrain on April 16, 2026; it is available with both single-motor RWD and AWD all-wheel drive configurations. It is available with a price range from 249,800 to 299,800 Chinese yuan, equivalent to 36,800 to 44,200 American dollars.
