The carmakers are yet to release the model-wise passenger EV sales figures for July 2026; notably, the model that was the highest selling the previous month was the Punch EV by Tata Motors. They sold a total of 3,681 units, registering a month-on-month growth of 14%; we are expecting that the sales for it in June 2026 will be above 3,700.

In May 2026, out of the top 10 passenger EVs selling, there were four from Tata Motors, including three others that are Nexon, Harrier, and Curvv. It is highly expected that in June 2026 most selling passenger EVs, like the Tiago EV, may also make a place, as they introduced the facelift in late May 2026.

Tata Motors has been leading the passenger EV sales in India for months because they have introduced multiple models in different segments that fulfill the needs of buyers. Before June 30, 2026, they had only 6 models in the electric vehicle lineup, but after the launch of Sierra EV, now they have a total of 7 models with different prices.

Reportedly, in the upcoming model, Tata Motors is going to cross the 15,000 monthly sales of passenger EVs, thanks to the launch of the Tiago EV facelift and Sierra EV. Tata Motors isn’t the only company who is expanding its electric vehicle profile. In the second half, between July and December, we are all set to see the launch of many EV models.

Kia will soon introduce the Syros EV in the Indian market; many reports suggest that they are planning to launch it in India in August 2026 with the ex-showroom price between 14 and 20 lakh rupees. Following the launch, it will compete with Tata Nexon EV, MG Windsor EV, and Mahindra XUV 3XO EV.

The manufacturer will introduce this model with a front-wheel drive drivetrain, mounting a permanent magnet synchronous motor on the front axle with a one-speed automatic gearbox. It is most likely this EV will make its debut with two LFP battery packs that can be 42 kWh and 49 kWh.

Hyundai is also planning to introduce a sub-4-meter EV; however, they haven’t yet revealed the production. Reportedly, it is internally codenamed as HE1i. They haven’t confirmed any date for its launch, but there’s high speculation that the South Korean automobile manufacturer will launch it during the festive season, by November 2026.
