Voyah Taishan X8 Launched in China – 727 km EV Range & 292,900 Yuan PHEV Price

The Chinese automaker Dongfeng’s EV brand Voyah launched the Voyah Taishan X8, a full-size luxury SUV, on May 22, 2026, with two powertrains, all-electric and plug-in hybrid electric, for the domestic market. The car is introduced in five variants, out of which two are available as EVs and three are PHEVs. 

Three variants of the plug-in hybrid electric powertrain are Max, Ultra, and Ultra+, whose prices are 292,900 yuan, 329,900 yuan, and 359,900 yuan, respectively; and the two variants of the all-electric powertrain are Ultra, costing 339,900 yuan, and Ultra+, costing 379,900 yuan.

Voyah Taishan X8 Side look

Dimensionally, the EV and PHEV are identical. The length, width, and height are 5200 mm, 2025 mm, and 1814 mm, respectively. Its wheelbase is 3090 mm; compared to its rival, the NIO ES8, it is 93 mm longer but 20 mm shorter than the upcoming Aito M9

At the front end, it gets DLP intelligent projection headlights for better visibility, a blacked-out sporty bumper for modern styling, and sharp integrated LED daylight running lights, giving it a futuristic appearance. 

On the sides, hidden flush-type handles for enter and exit doors add premium touch, sit on 21-inch aero-optimized alloy wheels giving bold road presence, power side steps to easier entry and exit, and body-coloured ORVMs in aerodynamics design to reduce drag.

The back features horizontal LED taillamps with the ‘VOYAH’ lettering at the center, creating a wide stance and reflecting the wide-stance, clean tailgate for an uncluttered rear view and roof-integrated spoilers to enhance the airflow.

It comes with a seating capacity of 5 people in a layout of 2-3 with heating, ventilation, and massage functions. Behind the rear seat, there’s a boot space of 1148 liters; folding the rear seats expands the cargo up to 2361 liters. 

In the front row, there are two wireless phone charging pads and two cup holders. The second row gets zero-gravity seats, ensuring better comfort for all rear-seating passengers, and features foldable trays and 13-liter smart refrigerators for occupants’ convenience.

Equipped with dual 15.6-inch Huawei smart screens, one at the center of the dashboard that acts as the control panel of the cabin and another as the front passenger display for entertainment.

Get three-spoke steering wheels, under which there’s a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. It also features a 21.4-inch 3K ceiling-mounted screen for the infotainment of occupants. 

Notably, all the screens run on the HarmonySpace 5.2 operating system, which also supports the MOLA AI voice assistant, which does things over voice. 

The cabin is equipped with a 29-speaker Voyah sound system to enhance the infotainment experience. It also has a massive 55-inch AR head-up display, which projects the driving data on the windshield to make the driving stress-free. 

It has Huawei’s advanced Qiankun ADS with 896-line dual-optical LiDAR and multiple cameras and radar systems featuring highway and urban driving assistance, automated parking, and smart lane changes.

One with the plug-in hybrid powertrain is equipped with the 110 kW 1.5-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder petrol engine under the hood and equipped with two electric motors, one on each axle. 

Available with two LFP battery packs that are 44.5 kWh and 65 kWh, giving an all-electric CLTC range of 245 km and 370 km, respectively. With a standard battery pack, the system generates the peak power of 365 kW, but the larger one does 385 kW.

On the other hand, the all-electric powertrain is also mounted with electric motors. The offered LFP battery packs are 98 kWh and 120 kWh. With the former, it gives a range of 603 km, but with the latter, it runs up to 727 km. Notably, with both battery packs, the combined power output of both motors is 365 kW.
